@Yvonne Smith - Booby and you were first things on my mind when I got up. See no update yet. Will check back later to see how all is going.
Keeping both of you in my prayers![]()
Yvonne,Bobby is doing much better, wants to come home. They have him in a regular room now, so I was able to call him this morning, but he is still waiting for a doctor to come and give home some information and let him know if he is being released. Bobby is really anxious to get out of the hospital !
Because he was nauseous when they brought him in, the doctor put him on a liquid diet, so all he is getting for food is juice and jell-o ………he is NOT happy about that, but one of the nurses brought him a sandwich last night, since he is not having any trouble with this anymore.
He is going to call and let me know once he has seen a doctor and knows when he will be released, so meanwhile, I am just getting the usual chores done here at home.
The truck is loaded with all the tools and generator, but if I am just picking him up and not having to park it somewhere, I think that I should be able to drive it down to pick him up. I will update when I have more news, but so far things are looking good.
SOOOO Glad he's back home with you.Finally……..Bobby is back home again, and he is doing good, but ever so happy to be back home . We still do not know what caused it, but none of the tests were bad for either his heart or lungs, so they are just saying it was a bad case of vertigo, for no known reasons.
I am SO HAPPY to have my Sweetie back home again ……..it is just not the same without my Bobby here with me.
Believe me, Yvonne, I definitely know how you feel. Nancy and I could hardly wait until she was discharged from her 4-day hospital stay a couple of weeks ago. Getting home at night, after being with her at the hospital all day, we missed each other so, so much. We both had the same feeling when I was in the hospital twice in 2023.Finally……..Bobby is back home again, and he is doing good, but ever so happy to be back home . First, let me say I am glad you are home. I fully understand what you just went thru. I have been dealing with it (inner ear disorder) for over 25 years. I am a former patient of both Dr Epley and Dr Black, two all time best inner ear scientist and doctors, ever. They are both dead now and no Neuro-otologist has yet to rise to the level they achieved. Dr, Black was the doctor doing research for NASA.Yup, I’m home and I am totally thankful for all the prayers (and good vibes) that came from our small community of the very best seniors I have ever encountered.
Yes, as it turns out, since every test came back with somewhere near excellent, Vertigo was determined to be the culprit of a whole lot of anxiety.
Something about calcium carbonate crystals in the inner ear which, if true, is curable using some physical therapy movements called the Epley Maneuver.
Please do understand something though:
From some of the things I have seen that have no explanation in the medical field, it could very well have been a heart attack that was turned aside because of ya’ll’s prayers.
I am not writing that it was or wasn’t but the strange thing is that I had 6 bad aspects of my last blood work (a couple of weeks ago) that turned out near perfect or much better just a day ago….after Yvonne asked for prayer. I mean, 2 weeks just doesn’t sound like enough time to correct a high LDL that I have had to cope with for at least 10 or so years without using Statins.
And…that nodule in my left lung that concerned a couple of doctors? After the x-rays and scans; nothing. Nada. Nope. Not there.
Maybe the examiners just missed it but if not and it’s gone ?
So again, no matter what the diagnosis turned out to be, I do give thanks for all of you, your prayers and good thoughts……and God.
Thank you, @Faye Fox ! Bobby will be reading this and adding it all into his research for inner ear information. Thank you for sharing your experience and information, and I am sure that it will help him with his research. He will also be checking in with his PCP first thing on Monday, so they may have more information for him.@Yvonne Smith The new less dramatic Epley maneuver. The old test required a sudden drop of ones head and sometimes led to problems if the patient didn't have BPPV, but a more serious inner ear disorder. This one is safe and easy to do.
Just curious @Yvonne Smith did Bobby vomit or just feel nauseous? Did his ears feel full or did he have a change in his tinnitus? Does he have any hearing loss? Did the doctors look for any pressure in his ears? Did he have a headache? I ask these questions because they are important for doctors to know.Thank you, @Faye Fox ! I will let @Bobby Cole answer all of that for you, Faye, since he was the one who has first-hand experience with what he was going through.Just curious @Yvonne Smith did Bobby vomit or just feel nauseous? Many don't know that feeling nauseous is different than the act of vomiting. It is important for doctors to know if the nausea resulted in vomiting.
This is important to know for people our age.@Yvonne Smith The new less dramatic Epley maneuver. The old test required a sudden drop of ones head and sometimes led to problems if the patient didn't have BPPV, but a more serious inner ear disorder. This one is safe and easy to do.
Thanks for the added research Faye and no, I didn’t have the gut wretching reaction that one could call vomiting. I choked up some phlegm when we got to the ER and they called it vomiting but it was just something I do nearly every morning when I first get up.Just curious @Yvonne Smith did Bobby vomit or just feel nauseous?
