Anyone Watching the Olympics?

My husband has been watching every day, too. It seems like every time I walk through the den, Curling is on. When did Curling become such a thing?? It's like competitive floor waxing or something.
I'm watching on network TV and hardly see curling. I like it. I used to bowl and play darts and for some reason it sorta reminds me of that, except I never used to scream.

On what station is Mister Gallagher getting this?

Right now he's watching USA Network and the women's curling is on, lol. We have Comcast so you can use voice commands to find Olympic coverage on a few stations.

The best I can do is watch You Tube reruns. I have antenna TV and have thought of getting Starlink so I can stream to my TV. I just need to figure out how to set it up. Every friggin' streaming-ready TV is full of spyware these days.

Medal winners were given Olympic Mascot stuffed animals in addition to their medals.

The Committee had some special ones made up for the Canadian hockey team:

(No offense meant to our members from up north. It was a good game...went into OT.)

My husband said some Curling was on yesterday. That is one "sport" I absolutely do not get. Our son-in-law and a bunch of his friends go to some kind of Curling event in Idaho every winter. I think it's just an excuse to get together and party.
Curling and ski jumping and running the moguls, is the only thing I watch portions of. I was proud of the gal that made a big show of being proud of her country, the flag, and being American.

The only curling I like is the doubles. The 4 person curling is just to many players in the game. It ends up with less strategy and just a game of tit for tat. 10 ending is way too much time. I enjoyed some of the women's hockey.

About the only sport I enjoy watching, is professional bull riding. All those guys are appreciative of the USA, including the Brazilians. Probably the only patriotic sport left. It isn't in the Olympics and that is a good thing.

I was encouraged that Jack Hughes and Alysa Liu, spoke out about being proud to be American and represent their country. Jack makes the goal that wins gold against the Canadians, with one player an America hater. Way to go Jack! This proves the Canadians didn't know jack! 🤣

Well, it didn't take long for the political bullshit to start. In my opinion, anyone who steps onto the podium and says they are "embarrassed" to represent the USA should be told to step down and immediately disqualified and sent home. I am really sick and tired of this shit.

So I won't be watching another minute of the Olympics. Soon there won't be anything left on TV for me to watch at all.
One of the Greatest olympians that ever lived, Jim Thorpe, had all of his medals stripped for doing much less.
All he did was play minor league baseball for something like $50 hence being classified as a professional even though his Olympic expertise wasn’t even remotely associated with baseball.

Jim Thorpe is buried in a town that used to be called Mauch Chunk but was renamed Jim Thorpe here in Pennsylvania. Following the 1953 death of athlete and Olympic medal winner Jim Thorpe, Thorpe's widow and third wife, Patricia, was impatient when, after five months, the planned memorial in Shawnee, Oklahoma had yet to raise the $100,000 to honor him. When she heard that the boroughs of Mauch Chunk and East Mauch Chunk were desperately seeking to attract business, she made a deal with civic officials. According to Jim Thorpe's son, Jack, Patricia was motivated by money in seeking the deal.

Sorry to go a little off topic folks but I’m just curious.
Thorpe’ s medals were eventually restored in 2022 so are they being displayed in one of the boroughs or held by the son?
