Anyone Listen To You Tube Doctors?

Not often, though I have on occasion. Each time I have a "condition" I always look for videos, like when I got lymphedema in my arm after surgery. I also used to consult those two physical therapists (Bob and Brad?) when I had a sore neck or whatever.

Never. Nor do I use WebMD. I do wish a lot of people would not. I see so many self diagnosing or giving advice to others that is absolutely incorrect, it drives me up a wall.

Listen to your own physician, and do not assume that while you may have similar symptoms as another, you can medically advise them.

There are several that i sometimes watch. Dr. Berg is one, Dr. Mandell, Dr. Gundry, and Dr. Davis are some of the others. I look at Web MD occasionally, when i am searching for some kind of information, but not for medical advice.
I think that most doctors have not gotten much training in nutrition, so if the ones who have made that their specialty are featured on YouTube, then I listen to them there.
Sometimes, the regular doctors are just not much help at all, like Bobby’s leg and foot pain, and the doctor just told him to find a comfortable cushion to sit on. We expected better advice than that from a medical doctor.

I've listened to Bob and Brad for years, they are really good therapist.
Sadly Bob passed, there is a young man who now works with Brad, nice young man.

Ask yourself- why would any doctor feel the need to give advise on U tube..please don't say to help people..Money and why would any doctor need additional cash from pit like u Tube ? Beyond me..just say'en

Hedi, there is good money for You Tuber's. According to their views.
I've had some great doctors and a few bad ones.
I like to be involved in my treatment, since the 1970s when a couple almost killed me.
As I've said I had many more who saved my life and helped.
Like anything else now, I trust then verify and it works for me.

Major medical facilities such as MD Anderson, the Mayo Clinic, etc. have Youtube channels with tons of excellent information. I was able to see all of my cancer doctors in videos before I met them in person. There are also excellent physical therapy videos from those same hospitals, which I used when doing range-of-motion exercise after surgery.

So some Youtube videos are absolutely valuable, though I never bother with any of the "nutrition experts" and that stuff.

I have always been impressed with Dr Berg and seldom find fault. I have recently been watching Leonid Kim as hubby has a few issues. I am sorry. The medical establishment around here leaves a lot to be desired. It is basically big business. I don't find any help on sites like web. md. I do have a large library of my own that I am still learning from.
I am glad the doctors are around who can fix me after being hit by a bus or something as I probably could not do that. And I love my chiro. Basically she is my primary.

I have listened to many doctors on YouTube and elsewhere. I don't believe everything I hear but when there is an agenda in play within mainstream medicine, it is possible to get information more accurate than what your own doctor is allowed to tell you.

I do visit those clinics too, also Google sometimes for answers.
I just got the AARP Mag this week, Diabetes was front page article, it said there are millions of diabetics now, most from lifestyle.
I'd think information is a good way to help stay well as we can anyway.

I like this guy for diabetes control since I've never taken meds for it in last 13 or so years. Tried metformin, quit after 3 days, it hurt my stomach, so it been diet, exercise all the way.
You Tube has been very helpful for me.

If videos are available on YouTube from Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and other teaching medical facilities, that's fine. Sometimes, before a procedure is prescribed for you, you can see how it is performed. Certainly, these places are the real deal.

I don't know if so-called doctors who have their own videos are bona fide physicians or not. If they are, the one reason, they may be doing these videos is definitely for money. Doctors and nurses, as well, pay an enormous sum of money for malpractice insurance. We may never have to use it, which is a God-send, but it's there if it is needed.

There never should be a situation where a doctor is not allowed to give you information about yourself. That is against the law. Nurses are barred from divulging certain things, but not doctors.

Unfortunately, today, a lot of teaching for doctors and nurses is done via videos. In my estimation we should always have clinical instructors looking over our shoulders after being taught certain procedures. If patients only knew how poorly today's medical care is obtained, well, I'll just leave it at that.
