Unfortunately it's human nature to look for the easy way out , which means why there are so many parents today who look for social media to babysit their kids.

Hah. I'm guilty of using the TV babysitter. Of course I never worried that Sesame Street would make any of my kids suicidal or anything. I could park them for an hour and get some cleaning done!It used to be TV, now it is SM
One other possible red flag that I thought of a couple of hours ago.Governments, especially in Europe, use "protecting children" as an excuse to restrict free speech and monitor access to the internet. It is one of those slippery slopes.
Some of the prepper channels are worried that the government is going to confiscate their gold and silver. They have their guns ready in case they try.One other possible red flag that I thought of a couple of hours ago.
I believe it was back in 2018 or ‘19 when New Zealand banned guns.
Essentially, guns are the citizens’ insurance that freedom won’t be taken away.
Could be something or it could be nothing but with the issues I have concerning Trust, I’m betting against that the whole thing is just coincidence.
They think corporal punishment is abuse. I sure got my share of switching as did my kids. Not often because we knew what would happen if we disobeyed. I don't have one single scar from a switch, we also had chores to do.It’s almost like being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
First off, I certainly do not want to give more power to ANY city, state or federal governments.
As it is, the combination of the three has taken a lot of power from the parents and teachers in regard to a kid’s upbringing which paints those same law making entities into a corner.
Instead of backing up and once again throwing the weight of teaching to parents and teachers complete with all the accountabilities that entails, for 3 generations it has allowed any and all types of social media to fill Johnny’s and Sally’s brain with trash which is why Johnny is hooked on mom’s Tide pods, has multiple pronouns and wants to get rid of his “personal equipment” because after all, he was born to be a girl. Let’s not Even get started on what Sally is leaning.
Problem is, the government can’t just tell parents and teachers to start doing their job complete with unlocking the woodshed because now, the generations that are raising the kids know nothing but the psycho-babble they’ve learned [from social media] which panders to a child’s whims and then calls it parenting and teaching”.
So, in a way, I kind of understand why New Zealand is banning Social Media for kids. If Momma, Daddy and the Teachers can’t teach and lock up the equipment, then someone has to.
Maybe without all the outside influences broadcast in 5G networks 24 hours a day, moms and dads will start relearning how to be real fathers and mothers.??

The U.S. is the ONLY democratic republic to last this long, and the first and second amendments are why. If we had become a democracy, it wouldn't have lasted a century. They never do. That is why the Founders chose to form a republic with separation of powers and different ways of establishing each branch. We destroyed the Senate when it went to direct election, and we destroyed the currency when the Federal Reserve was established. We can blame Woodrow Wilson in large part for both of those with help from his cronies. Those changes will limit the life of the republic.
Lois I am always saying I feel sorry for the youth and the society we left for them.Keeping the youngsters away from social media may help reduce the bullying problem. While I believe this belongs to parents and teachers to control, it appears, that they do not get involved in those situations, thus, the government takes over. Folks may bellyache about nanny governments, etc, but if we employed good parenting skills, this would not be necessary.
The suicide rate among our teens due to bullying is appalling, and my son, who is a bereavement counselor, has told me some of the saddest
stories of these situations ever. Either do your job parents, or the government will.
Years ago I had a friend who observed that it won't be long before people have no idea what "clockwise" means. There's a video out there of someone trying to explain to a guy that "a quarter to 12" has nothing to do with money. The guy could not grasp the concept. I guess if you asked him how long a football game lasts, he'd reply "One dollar."Or learn how to write in cursive....
Or learn how to tell the time on a real clock, not a digital clock..
Or know how to use a rotary dial telephone..
I just had my X/Twitter account suspended. I rarely comment there, I just use it to read articles others have posted. And when I do comment, it's an observation on the topic, not attacking someone. I created an account to read other people's comments on stuff, to be able to play videos, and to support Musk's efforts in fighting for global free speech.
The reason given was "Inauthentic Behaviour." There is a definition for what constitutes Inauthentic Behaviour. I've engaged in none of the behaviours. In fact, they do not even tell you what you did or where you did it, much less issues warnings first. I've read this type of whimsical suspension is a pretty common thing. Some folks say that activity is analyzed by AI. Others claim hostile members try to got others suspended because of their viewpoints by registering false complaints. (At least it's not an automatic universal thing like Twitter used to be.)
There is an "appeals process" where you fill in a form and tell them why you should be unsuspended. I'm on another forum where some folks have been suspended for the same reason before even engaging in any activity and their account has never been reinstated. Others say their first effort to get reinstated gets denied, then randomly try again and eventually get reinstated. Still others have taken no action to get reinstated and it "just happens."
One guy said he had a Verified Business Account on X and got suspended for the same reason. I can't imagine building a business presence on a social media platform and having it yanked out from under you on an apparent whim. All your marketing material and business cards have your X account on them, and clients are gonna see that you got suspended. Nice, huh?
The only reason I'm making efforts to salvage my X account is that Musk is not repressing anyone's voice (although it may be happening to some degree anyway) and is not knuckling under to Europe. It's the only open platform people around the world have available to get information out (such as it may be) and to combat the media.I mentioned a while ago that I was permanently banned from Reddit, that liberal cesspool of crazy. Apparently joking that an ICE agent should have tasered someone who spit in his face was "threatening violence" and I was summarily banned because everyone knows I'm a menace to society.
I'm certain that I was targeted due to belonging to conservative groups, so Reddit's "Search and Destroy" bots were gunning for anyone who said anything positive about Trump.
I subsequently opened a new account and went about my way, but I never comment on anything anymore. There are some topics I like to follow, and being logged in allows me to filter out the liberal noise. Conservative voices are silenced by any means necessary.
