Oh yes, the old meat grinder!
We had one just like it when I was growing up, and I used to grind bread crusts into bread crumbs for my mom!
She kept a large roaster in the oven and would fill the roaster with bread ends until full, then I'd take the roaster, along with the grinder into the TV room, set the grinder up on the coffee table and grind crumbs!

I never understood why anyone would want kitchen carpet. Not the easiest flooring to clean.

So true, Milly, carpeting in kitchens and bathrooms was so unsanitary. I cringe just thinking about it now.

When I met hubby in 1986 he had kitchen carpet in his home , which was likely left there from previous tenants ….yuck 
It was a flat nylon type of horrible carpet not the shag stuff …blah ..

Oh yes, I do remember!
Everyone's pencils had teeth marks on them, the erasers were always black colour from erasing lead, and some kids even had broken pencils!
