Shirley there has been numerous warnings on the media about usuing paper towel as a substitute for toilet paper It’s doesn’t break down like toilet paper so it’s clogging septic systems and the sewage systems so many will be up for many $$$$ if they use kitchen towel / paper towel I tried to play a few games this morning my internet keeps dropping out ...well my iPad shuts down as. soon as I click on the bookmark to open any site
I know about the danger of putting other things in the toilet. @Milla Jonas , my son is a plumber. I was using Kleenex to pick up Miki poop and flushing them down the toilet. When he heard about me doing that, he told me that Kleenex don't dissolve like toilet paper and not to flush them. I never realized that. They are saying that if you use other things, put them in a trash bag, not the toilet.
We have a sceptic tank where I live and only toilet paper goes down the toilet... any toilet paper is OK …. The snow storm is over at last.. About 15cms of snow fell but it was the wind causing blowing snow that did us in.. We are home till the driveway gets cleaned which will be tomorrow during daylight.. We are NOT going out of the house anyway, so it doesn't matter..
Thank you, Craig! It's a sad period for humankind, but our Mother Earth is resting for a while. She is less polluted because most people all over the world are staying indoors. Be well!
OK.... Today is Saturday... Snow clean-up day.. Not that I ever shovel, but the driveway has to be cleaned in order for us to get out.. Now, we are NOT going out anyway, but it still has to be cleaned.. Cooking day... I will be making a stew in the slow cooker using some moose meat I have.. I have about 2 pounds of moose meat cubed which along with some veggies will make a delicious stew..
I was going to order some Chinese food for supper. I called to see if they were taking food to the car for customers. Nobody answered so I guess they must be closed. I'll have to open a can of something.
No Chinese food restaurant anywhere near here.. The closest is about a 2 hour drive to get a meal...…… forget that ..!!!!
Steve what does moose meat taste like..and dont say moose meat. Why is it not exported to Aussieland. I have tasted venison when I was in Europe many years ago. Tasty.
Craig, the Chinese restaurant in my town doesn't do deliveries. They are a Mom & Pop business in the truest sense of the word. It is not part of a chain. The husband and wife are owner/ operators. They are Oriental but I don't think they are Chinese. I believe they are Vietnamese. They have been here for quite a while. I use to go in and see the children sitting at tables doing their homework. Now they are helping with the business. They are saying to help our small business owners by shopping there if possible during the crisis. That's why I called to see if they were open. My favorite meal there is chicken or beef stir fry plate with vegetables. It's really good and it's priced fairly. I have cancelled our family Sunday dinner indefinitely. My granddaughter's job requires her to go into several Walmarts every day. There is a risk that sooner or later she will be exposed to COVID-19. Her husband's job exposes him to the public, too. I thought it was better to err on the side of caution. My GD disagreed. She said it's better to err on the side of, "Common sense."
Australia is closing all non essential places as of midday today March 23. So Sydney which loves to let down her hair with many fine hotels, bars, restaurants, cafes and the like.. will have to disappoint many people for the next few months. Evidently this measure has not been imposed since WW2.
It's going to be tough times for us all. Our beaches should be opening before long but I doubt if they will. All we can do is hunker down, play on the internet, watch TV or read. I had a simply horrible thought today...… Suppose with so many people staying home and getting on the internet, the internet gets overloaded and collapses?
I’ve have trouble with the internet shutting down @Shirley Martin each time I open this forum or another bookmarked one they both shut down as soon as I try to click on a thread all I’ve been able to do the last couple of days is check mail and that’s as slow as a snail checking for messages
That happened to me earlier today. It said something like. "We're unable to locate this page." I closed it and tried again and it worked. That's what made me think about it shutting down. I wonder if that really could happen?
