Just the title alone already gave me a good laugh. But in fairness to the cop, the human tree is an obstacle on the road, if what my eyes told me is accurate. Perhaps it would have been a better idea if that breathing decor was placed on the curb. We have some artist friends who told us of that gimmick. It is called Installation Art. Humans will be dressed to mimic inanimate objects to serve as decorative display.
What law on their books could possibly be cited to charge him with? The picture does not show him obstructing traffic. After all, correct impersonation required that he remain rooted in place on the sidewalk, as shown. Trees do not move about! Frank
The comments were funny! You just can't stand in the middle of the street I don't think, there's probably a law he can be charged with if you can be charged with jaywalking. Those officers were brave in my opinion unless they already knew him....he could have had a gun and shot them, considering what's been going lately.
I'm assuming he's the tree under the red light? It appears to be a Christmas type tree, so is that what he's protesting, the cutting down of so many trees? I saw the headline on Twitter earlier, but didn't click, because the internet still seems a bit shaky today. I'm interested to learn what he was protesting.
He was in the street and Per the story: "the man didn’t respond to officers when they warned him against obstructing traffic", thus the arrest. That's a quote I saw on the story as to why he was arrested. You can't just do as you please, @Frank Sanoica. Then when he gets hit by a car, the driver ends up paying the price. Also, considering all the police shootings he's lucky not to have been shot. If i was an officer and someone in a tree wasn't doing what I asked, I'd be nervous.... These are volatile times. ...of course this is Maine, so I don't know..
