Woman kills man in Florida Walmart parking lot over...

I've been in the exact same situation a couple of times in crowded parking lots. I'll wait for someone to leave, then another driver will zoom into the space just as I start pulling in. I always react the same way - I just go park somewhere else.
Years ago, when I was married, my wife & I went to a popular store that was always crowded on weekends - "Fedco." She liked shopping there. As I pulled into a space, a big van sped into it, almost hitting me.
I said, "Sir, you must have seen me waiting for that space."
He yelled a bunch of profanities. As I drove away, my wife said, "I can't believe you let him get away with that."
I said, "Do you really think it's worth fighting over?"
She said, "Well......I guess not." (our marriage lasted two years)

In this case, both people involved were stupid. But the man was much more stupid for acting in a threatening manner & giving the woman a legal excuse to use deadly force. And showing his "macho" by not backing down.

My husband is the same as you, and I agree, stupid was at play related to both parties involved in the parking spot tiff.

Yes but I really enjoyed the parking scene in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes.
 
To us, there are way too many folks that have a loaded handgun in their vehicle. I don't remember, in this case with the "parking spot" thing, where the lady got her handgun. The lady also warned the man not to advance towards her, which he did.

Today, a person HAS TO watch what they say/do towards another person. Killings like this happens, as well as Road Rage incidents, which many end up in a shooting/killing.

I'm starting to wonder why so many people are so darn angry nowadays?
 
Just like backing out of a parking space. You look at your Back-Up Camera on the dash, nobody behind you or coming. Then, all of a sudden, a car comes flying by you as you start backing up. People don't look for white Back-Up lights? When we are looking for a parking space, I always look for those white Back-Up lights. If the person is beginning to back up, I "toot" my horn to let them know I'm coming behind them.

And, sometimes, but not too often, an argument can start over someone parking in a Handicap Spot and not displaying a Placard or Handicap License Plate.

I get somewhat upset with young and old/older drivers when they don't use turn signals, cut me off or whatever, BUT, I no longer beep my horn or anything like that. Just too dangerous today to do any of that.

Exactly what happened here. The wife parked in a handicap spot while her husband went into a store. Another guy plays parking monitor & confronts her about it. Her husband gets mad & assaults him & is killed. Their 5 year old son watches his father die.

I feel badly for that family but one or a few bad happenings within the second amendment should not overturn the law. The backing up is what needs to be settled.

1. wife illegally parks in a handicap only spot
2. random stranger calls her out on it
3. husband assaults random stranger
4. random stranger, in self defense, shoots husband.

Sounds like another case of FA and FO.
 
Could be, but after that violent shove (which has occasionally caused death from a head injury) I could understand the victim's reaction, especially with a much younger, bigger & stronger person. Things can happen quickly & the victim probably thought the assault wasn't over & he would be helpless on the ground.
Of course I would never confront anyone over illegal parking. Not worth it.
 
I called out a fella parking illegally in a handicap spot at Walmarts last month. No placard, no HC license plate. I asked him why he was parked there, and he just mumbled. I told him I was calling the police (and a few other things :ROFLMAO:). He then turned around, got on his phone, hopped in his car and sped off. I suspect he was not in the US legally, probably didn't speak English, but knew what "police" meant. I'm an 80 year old man with a bad heart, bad lungs, and bad kidneys, so what do I have to lose? :cool:

Maybe not much, but instead of a quick death from a bullet, you might only get hurt. I wouldn't want to spend my last days/weeks/months recovering in the hospital.
