I just got a message back from Shirley….. She is fine and will be back soon.

I'm OK. I have been busy with canning and freezing lately but that's not all. I seem to not have a lot of energy. By the time I do what I have to do, I need a nap. I'm tired all the time. I guess it's my old age catching up with me.

I'll be back in a day or so. I only have peas to freeze then I'll be through freezing.

Tell them I have been busy and I'll be right back. :o) ”
 
Nothing new. Just waiting for full body PET scan. If the results of the scan show any spread, then no surgery, probably chemo if I can tolerate it. Minor spread in vicinity of main tumors, will be radiated. That is a big if. If localized as suspected, then surgery date will be set. Not doubt more hoops to jump thru, preparing for surgery. After surgery, then 6 month tests to watch for activity for the rest of my life.

Anyway, I may not be on here much, as everything hit at once. Hopefully everything will be back on track by Sept and I can focus on staying strong as possible and getting my attitude adjusted.

Well this is round two of major cancer for me and more complex than round one. Different cancers, but both nothing to mess around with. The thing is cancer will kill all of us if something else doesn't first, by age 100. Cancer is a natural thing in the cycle of life. There is no cure for cancer and never will be.
 
I spent some time whining about my cancers, but mine were rather mild as compared to what some of you have or are currently going through. When I got prostate cancer, my doctor told me that, of the types of prostate cancer, mine was the mildest, and another doctor said something similar when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I told him that I was so lucky; I get all of the best cancers. I was being facetious at the time, but there's something to it, I suppose.

It's such a crapshoot, though. My ex sister-in-law had "mild" stage 1 breast cancer the year before I had IBC. Hers was treated with a lumpectomy and hormone suppressants; she had the best possible outcome; no chemo and no radiation.

I recently learned that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic disease and she has no treatment options left. Cancer is sneaky and it SUCKS.

Hang in there, girl. It sucks that you have to go through it again, and I hope you have the best possible outcome. Check in when you can and let us know how its going.
