Just More of Ken's Nonsense

I've been doing my minimums when it comes to exercising but I haven't been exceeding them by much, whereas, in the past, I would sometimes double them. I can make excuses, such as scheduled things that get in the way, and they would be valid excuses, but I still could have fit in more exercise. I could also point out that it has been raining a lot, but I even have a thread here about how it is sometimes enjoyable to walk in the rain, and only a couple of the exercise regimens I do require going outdoors. So, what I am left with is that I've been a lazy bastard lately.

In my last dream, I was going to join some military organization or something, but I'm not clear on what it was. To qualify, applicants had to climb either a framework like the metal skeleton of a building or a (real, not a manufactured) rock wall. I chose the rock wall, but I wussed out partway up and climbed back down. They let me try the following day again, and I completed it.

However, rather than going on to join this organization, I came by from time to time to regale new classes with my exploits of having climbed the rock wall, to give tips, and tell war stories about my having completed this test. Years later, climbing that rock wall was my life achievement.

It was pretty pathetic, and the kind of dream that seemed to have been trying to tell me something.

This video shows some of the parts of Maine that most people don't think of when they think of Maine, including Millinocket. The photos and the facts are real, but he doesn't pronounce many of the places in Maine correctly.

That is very poorly done AI. The "olde" video effects are really annoying.

I missed that. The photos are all genuine, as far as I can see, and I've been to nearly all of these places. I found the audio narration to be annoying, largely because of the mispronunciations of nearly every place mentioned.
I enjoy the road trip type videos done by actual people. I think you posted one before of a couple (Joe & Nic's Road Trip) who visited towns in Maine, including Millinocket. Makes me wonder if AI will be putting regular Youtubers out of business.

That's a concern among YouTubers. Apparently, Google (which owns YouTube) has said that the platform would be differentiating (in some way) between podcasts that are entirely AI, those that were assembled by humans but narrated by AI, and those that were fully produced by humans. It will be nice if they actually do that.

A young woman just came by on the sidewalk with two little girls, and stood there while her daughters each picked a flower from my front flower garden. That seems so strange. If a little girl had come by and picked a flower, I wouldn't think anything of it, but for a mom to stand by allowing her daughters to pick what were clearly not wildflowers is bizarre.

I'm sore this morning. It's not the distance I walked yesterday as much as the terrain. I didn't take pictures, but I tried cutting through the woods in a place where I thought I might intersect a trail that I wanted to get to without walking along a street, and it turned out to be pretty wet. Not one to want to turn back, I managed to avoid getting wet, but that involved crossing on rotting logs, over fallen trees, on rocks, and maneuvering from one clump of above-ground area to another. In the end, I ended up coming back out near where I had gone in, but without going back on my own tracks. Then, while I have hiked them before without difficulty, most of the trails that I was on were along hills, and, while there were paths, they weren't smooth paths in some areas. So, I don't think it was the distance as much as some of the twisting that I had to do, and maybe the 90 degree temperatures didn't help, either.
