Starmer has announced his resignation

@Tom Galty's fondest wish has come true. Keir Starmer announced his resignation as head of the Labour Party in the UK today. As a consequence, he will no longer be Prime Minister and will be replaced by another Labour politician. He has put off the election of his successor for a while, though, so he has a bit more time to serve before he is replaced. Reform UK has been surging in the polls recently, as both Conservatives and Labourites have failed to govern successfully. I think they have had 9 or ten PMs over the past few years, indicating that there is a divide between the political class and the voters in the UK as there has been in the U.S. for some time as well.

Some have said that the UK government is the most unstable that it has been in centuries as is indicated by the number of PMs. The politicians just don't listen to the voters.

We were following the same path @Tom Galty but Trump has paused the downtrend twice now in his two terms, just as Reagan did back in the1980s. Most of Western society seems to be committing suicide and it is sad to see. The U.S. is so divided that I don't see how we can come back together again. I think you underwent a similar unstable period after WWII and previously in the 1830s, but we have not had that history, as the President isn't as easy to change as the PM.
