"Marie", has a new primary care "Doctor" now

They finally sent someone to pick up equipment at 6 pm today so we are free from Hospice, and we believe she will be cared for better by ER docs and if she needs admitting at hospital it will be covered too, if we had been admitted the other night at ER Hospice told us we would've been charged full amount, another cost we couldn't afford now. Took her riding around again to three different towns last night helping her deal with anxiety attacks again to about twelve o-clock, came back home; she was weak as water; said it feels like something different going on. Today I made a small table to go in front of her van seat for her legs, It helped; she got in and tried it and said it's better.

Made it to doc today, Pet Scan scheduled May 19th..

Got back home and I turned on a 300watt bulb, jake said use the 100watt..
I asked if why he wants me to knock out his lights?
He must have forgot what an arm I have from playing softball my whole adult life. Last time I was in a league I was 50 in 2000.

He said thr 300 w would cost 20cent, since the other were 15cent.

The pet scan is going to give us some kind of "direction", I hope; Dr said his hands are tied until he gets the results back, and that, then he can answer our questions about stage, type where it started and the aggression of it. This has been so hard to deal with and to keep our sanity. I asked the oncologist why the pet scan was turned down by ins. He said they won't be able to turn it down now; with the new cat scan we gave him of lungs, he's really pushing for the test now, had a call in two days for pet scan appt., and the receptionist when setting our new appt, with them the oncologist, said he wants to see her back in two weeks; she said they never make the appts that soon, what's up with that? I told her it's because, he's pushing for the pet scan and trying to get things rolling for her. She said oh that must be what it is.

Also we made the primary Dr appt yesterday, and she gave Marie, Buspirone for her anxiety, ask her to try it for two weeks; then if it doesn't work for her, she wants to try cbc oil, which may help her with her appetite, she dropped below 100 lbs now and that worries me, Im making the whey protein for her regularly, and Dr gave me name of two other things to try, for protein, also.

That Buspirone is now in the garbage, no way will take chances of all the side effects of that stuff!
I ask the dr for what my granddaughter takes,' Colonazepam' while she was pregnant and now while breast feeding, baby is now 7 months old, it has less side effects another wasted trip for help with anxiety.

@Jake Smith
Check with your doctor but I think you might want to consider malted milk. It's like a shake it goes down easy has a lot of calories and some protein, and they're easy to make.

Since primary care doc has 10 calls waiting and hours call back, the er is now my primary care doctors,2 of them know me by sight now, but one Dr Que he calls himself, has a sense of humor, he said, ' wait till you see what I called into drug store for.' drug store filled it, Phillips Milk of Magnesia, guess he thinks I'm full of it! Or a hypochondriac.I told them I need to check bowels.
I/m sure he thought, bowel is the least of your problem .

Marie had Pet Scan yesterday, so maybe the next visit will inform us a little more about what's ahead, I hope. Day before yesterday we went to ER that morning she was in severe pain BP 199 / 99 117 pulse usually 68 pulse, and they gave her morphine for first time, and wrote a script for the liquid morphine, which drug store doesn't Carrie, so we called back asked them to switch script to pills, and drove back 27 miles to get the new script for pills, only after 27 miles back to CVS to find out; it was same script for liquid, "MAN", what an "idiot".

Came back home for her only to return ER and got another shot of morphine at midnight, and to be admitted over night, then off to a pet scan that next morning. After that she had a pain management appt. for meds, he took the ER script from us and said it's not morphine; I will write you one for that, but have to take ER script, I said ok, Marie said wait a minute I'm not going to be with nothing for the pain, can't take it. He said no I'm going to write you a script, she said ok and if not don't give him that script. I asked if he could please call the druggist, and make sure they have it, he did. When we went to fill it they had all kinds of stuff there for her, but not new pain med, Marie about "lost" it, after getting stuff opened at the station only to find out no pain med, she said take me back now, what the hell. This time she wanted in store and told pharmacist where is the pain meds? She said oh they called and made sure we have it, but haven't sent us a script yet; Marie said when are they sending it, she said not sure we waiting for them. Marie can you call them, this is insane, I can't go thru the pain anymore, she said I will and then call you; Marie told her I will sit right here until you fill it. She called some more and finally got it, got out of there and made it home. What a day.

What an ordeal to have to go through for Marie to be able to have some relief from her pain. I know they have to be careful with pain meds, but that all seems excessive and unnecessary when they know she has a good reason to have the prescription.
Hoping that they can get this taken care of so that Marie does not have to go through all of this to have her medications when she needs them.,
Adding our prayers for both of you that this can go smoother and easier from now on.

So so glad to hear Marie finally got the PET scan. Hopefully it isn't too late to do something more than heavy narcotic medication for her pain. At least now you will know and can get sound advise and be able to weight your options. Hopefully soon, you can both be able to find some peace and relief from the pain both physical and mental. Keep us informed when you get PET scan results.

It is insane, the incompetence or inattention to detail the medical industrial community has devolved into. We had similar experiences here but our distances are not so great. Try to stay up on the meds and don't run out. Do they have a clinic pharmacy? I didn't know about ours and then we could have gotten meds before we left. Of course, that didn't mean they had the stock available either. 😖
