What's for supper?

Supper was B/S chicken thighs pan fried in a honey/garlic sauce..
Steamed cauliflower, peas, and fried rice to go with the sauce..
No dessert as there was too much food...
Pot of tea well needed.................

I must admit that my last shopping trip had me carrying home thin sliced deli roast beef, hot cheddar cheese. tomato, and horseradish mayo. For a couple of you girls, this is the easy way out. For me this is major meal planning and preparation. I have to toast the bread, smear on horseradish mayo, slice a tomato risking the possible loss of a finger, salt the tomato, and then put the entire shittin sharoo together. But wait there is more! Unless I don my dentures which is a pain and reserved for going out to eat, I have to slice this sammich into small pieces.

Semi assisted living with lunch and supper is looking more viable every day. :sneaky:

I've thought the same thing, but there's no way I want to live in a group home.

One of my best friends has Parkinson's and finally had to move to assisted living after having several serious falls (she is divorced and lives alone). She resisted as long as she could but after she got moved into her own little assisted living apartment she is very happy. She can get immediate help when she needs it, but still has her own private space.

She can have meals delivered if she wants alone time, make herself something in her small kitchen, or go to the dining room to socialize. What's not to like other than the cost? She has her cat and lives close to shopping; she can take the facility shuttle to shop and to doctor appointments, etc.

Does she get pressured to socialize? Do places like that let you keep your personal vehicle of you're still capable of driving?

I don't like apartment living because it's too close to other humans. Being remote as I am certainly has its downsides, but nothing's perfect. Thank goodness there's a couple of nice families here with me in the hollow.

One of my aunts lived in assisted living and was able to have her own car. She drove to her church and to her daughter's house, which was spittin' distance.

I too, worry about being too close to other humans in apartments or senior homes. I guess we will cross that bridge if and when we have too.

I can see us getting in trouble for going off topic in the supper thread.
