Is "Old" age creeping up on you?

After minor corrections to several posts it's clear my impeded vision is increasing my rate of typos.
That's why I asked Ken about increasing the base font size. But then someone pointed out to me how to do that yourself. Control + or - makes just the text larger or smaller. No browser mods needed, I don't think... Of course, if I'm wrong it ain't the first time nor will it be the last. Unless my number comes up then it's Arrivederci!

You're right "Axel", "thanks"; I tried it and it does work.

Well, I'll tell you what has crept up on me this past week. FUO, (fever of unknown origin). My only symptoms other than a moderate fever a couple of times a day, have been fatigue and loss of appetite. That loss of appetite, I can ill afford. I tried to come on here a couple of times, but felt so lousy, I just laid down again. After umpteen tests, which showed fairly normal, we still haven't a clue as to what ails me. My sodium level and potassium level are slightly low, and my renal studies are a tad abnormal.

Those kidney studies are to be expected as I have a cyst on one of them, and my tests are always the same. I feel somewhat better, other than the usual muscular aches and my sciatica misbehaving periodically.

Anyhow, it's nice to be back and fever free.

Not a medical diagnosis just an idea. Lack of sun, company, tired of winter?

I think I've graduated from "Getting too old for this sh*t" to "Just too danged old."

I've somehow been losing track of the date and even day of the week lately. I just wasn't sure why but it has gotten so bad I ask Alexa for the current date quite often now. The new Alexa+ AI can get a little snarky, jokey, but also sometimes dumb. That doesn't help, and I don't want it getting suspicious and turning in alerts to the men in the little white coats to come trundle me off to the home.

I just figured out that when I put up the new calendar for the year I had grabbed an extra 2024 calendar I'd failed to toss out a while back. 😜

Every time I consulted the stupid calendar I was setting myself up for failure.

Marie, you are probably 100% correct. I want to see green grass and not snow every time I look out a window or open a door.
I grew up with snow from September to June and had my fill. Make plans for a small get together. We call them stitch ‘n bitch. Nobody ever brought needlework. Plan Easter surprises such as hard boiled eggs with natural dye and patterns. Start cat grass as nests for those eggs. Get an easy care house plant. Sit down with a mug of coffee or tea and a cookie and call a friend. Post here:)
We have the first clusters of daffodils. They peeked out of the snow. Tiny harbingers of spring. So fragile but hard as can be. SO brings me bulbs as I do not care for cut flowers.

As you undoubtedly know, FUO is very difficult to diagnose since everything else has to be ruled out. It sounds like it has resolved, so I am glad you are back and fever free.

It rarely snows in the South except at higher elevations. It did this year, even in Florida, but that's not a winter long thing most years like it can be
I hate to tell you this but we got snowed in as in cut off from everything in Washington DC, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma and Washington. Dirt bikes came in handy in Alabama.

It's nice to have you back too Lois.

We have the large desk calendar on both porch and kitchen tables so I know what day it is I check them off, also write dates to remember and when I last washed my hair.

Madge, I do remember those days too.
Marie, I was just sitting here, my mind wandering back to those lost days of long ago (courtesy of your and my entries), winding my way down each isle, dropping this into my shopping cart, that into my shopping cart, hitting the meat and produce departments, then down the infant/baby needs isle, toss a couple packages of rubber pants for the baby and toddler into the shopping cart, then through the checkout and scramble back home.

Always in a rush to get things done, because I was always behind the eight-ball on most everything. Laundry stacked up, little ones needing fed and changed, supper needing prepared and served, dishes stacked up on the counter and in the sinks, slide all of the dirty baby bottles down the counter further to make room for all of the supper dishes, then a quick glance at the clock on the stove, almost 6:30 pm, time to finish up and run a bath for the baby and toddler and get them settled for bed. Baby formula and bottles to prepare, and there's still a load of diapers hanging on the clothesline from this morning that need to be taken down, folded and stacked, and mom is so pooped she's wondering where she's going to find enough steam to run a hot bath for herself!

Oh, I have to do an entry in the Reminiscences section!
