Besides when we moved from Indiana to Virginia (probably a 10-11 hours drive back then, had our Rambler's transmission not caught fire), I've driven to Atlanta from northern Virginia (also a 10-11 hour drive.) That was in the early 1990s. I drove it straight through.

Hard to say. For a few years we wandered for a couple of weeks at a time in the RV, mostly out west. I think the farthest we went was up into Montana, but we'd take a meandering route and usually a different route coming home. I'd say probably around 3,000 miles in total for a trip.

From the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to Maine, where we visited about half the towns in the state trying to decide where to move to, before driving to the UP of Michigan to visit relatives, and then back to Texas.

I drove coast-to-coast and took a month to do it. I was alone, but it was a glorious trip. I had just been separated from the Navy and had money in my pocket and all the camping gear I needed.

I’ve mentioned in the past we spent two years living in a Caravan after selling our home in Adelaide

Our very first leg of our trip was to Perth, Western Australia via the Nullarbor which seems like a never ending extremely arid / remote area to nowhere it’s approx 2,600 km or about 1700 miles from SA

We’ve been over to Perth and back via the same road however DH has traveled it many times as he worked in iron ore mining as a heavy duty diesel mechanic in remote WA when he was young

Orlando to Seattle and back, a meandering trip. It took four months.

Driving myself? From Georgia to NE Ohio, 650 miles, one day.

Family road trip when I was 15, from NE Ohio to Fairbanks Alaska---about 3500 miles each way. Got there, turned around and came back. One 200 mile side trip. Took 4 weeks.

I hitch hiked from Barstow, California to Sun City, South Carolina.

A few years later I took a break from life and drove the entire length of I-40 from Wilmington, N.C. to Barstow in a converted Blue Bird school bus. On the way back by a different route, I blew the engine about 10 miles outside of Cuervo, Texas.
Sold the bus, stuck out my thumb and went to Greenville, S.C.

I went backward on the thread and discovered your post. It would seem that we are indeed brothers from a different mother.

I forgot about the trip to Alaska. We drove from Iowa to Alaska. I think it took us two weeks, but we didn't rush things. We made another round trip from here to Pennsylvania, and I drove it once again round trip to Iowa. Long drives through beautiful country.
