Christmas is one of the loveliest times for beautiful songs of all types...so how about we post our favourites here..with video or not, it's up to you..
My favorite English Christmas carols are the traditional Silent NIght and White Christmas (although we don't have snow here). When I was growing up, there was this Christmas album of Michael Jackson which also became my favorite particularly with the carrier song Give Love On Christmas Day. Some of my other favorites are not in English. Just for your curiosity, here is a video that I starred in. The song is in Filipino which is the story of a woman who is reminiscing the olden days when she was a cute little girl who always receives gifts from Santa Claus. Here is the link -
Hi Corie, that was fascinating, even if I didn't understand anything except the word Santa..LOL...It's fabulous to see or hear how other nations celebrate Christmas..
Also like Josh Groban's version of "The Little Drummer Boy" but I wont post that one, that would be overkill!
I love the Little Drummer Boy song, and that is a very beautiful rendition of it, @Chrissy Page . One of my most favorite Christmas carols has always been "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, written by my favorite poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who also wrote the "Saga of Hiawatha". He actually wrote this christmas song out of the pain in his heart from losing his beloved wife, and then his son was critically wounded in the Civil War; There are many fine versions of this song, but since Johnny Cash is one of my most favorite singers, I chose this version, performed beautifully by Johnny Cash and June Carter back in 1977.
Like Chrissy I like Little Drummer Boy. Other's I like are: You simply got to hear this by David Bowe and Bing Crosby Little Drummer Boy and Peace On Earth: Silent Night by Mahlia Jackson: Happy Holidays!
