Breakfast: same as usual......
Going to farmer's market tomorrow to get some decent tomatoes. Yay! The ones in grocery stores are pathetic...barely edible.
I picked some red Marconi peppers yesterday. Going to make an unstuffed pepper casserole today. Peppers, onions and tomatoes from our garden, meat, rice, and cheese from the grocery.
Ice cream floats are the cure for hot afternoons. My son and I had a few this afternoon and they hit the spot! The harsh heat outside seems far far away.
Trying to find the bbq rub i ran across a couple of days ago for chicken breasts. And then perhaps bake asparagus wrapped in bacon. My dad would call this 'Eating high on the hog".
We shared a ribeye steak and had a baked potato and pinto beans
its been extremely hot lately and the only thing I want to cook is BBQ as the stove won't make the kitchen hotter.. Yes we have A/C in the living window, but that is for the living room..
Our nights are cool enough to allow for a good nights sleep, but our daytime temperatures are up around 35c.. We are NOT used to that hot temp up here..
BBQ chicken, burgers, veal steaks, and sausages seems to be what is going on lately..
Our veggie garden is growing like crazy and a fresh garden salad goes very well with a BBQ, especially with my homemade dressing..
Breakfast consists of scrambled eggs with some fresh parsley chopped into it..
Lunch: Nothing really other than a cold diet pop..
Thinking about frying the okra I have put up from my garden, but the plants are still producing and I want to see how much the plants produce in total.

Breakfast: the usual, 3 egg omelette with turkey bacon for my wife, and 3 scrambled eggs for me..
I bought some frozen Haddock fillets..
Made a breading and put them in a hot skillet.. Wonderful..
I went to our vegetable garden and picked veggies to make a fresh salad..

Today (Friday) is food shopping day.. I will most likely buy something for supper while shopping.. Maybe some fresh fish..
Yesterday (Thursday) was sooooooooooo hot that I made a mish-mash BBQ for supper.. No stove please....
Princess wanted one of my marinated frozen chicken breasts while I felt like a small steak...
I went to our veggie garden and picked veggies for a salad... Made my own dressing..
S/F jello with heavy cream for desert..
Yesterday (Saturday) I made an Italian chicken casserole in the oven as the temperature dropped and it was cool enough to get the oven going.. Those casseroles that I make are loaded with veggies making it a one dish meal..
UNFORTUNATELY I have some leftovers that I put in a container in the fridge.. Actually, enough for the both of us to have another meal..

Last night (Monday) for supper, I made chicken drums on the BBQ
Steamed butternut squash, mashed with fresh chives..

Lunch.................. as usual, NOTHING !!!
Tonight (Wednesday) I made fish.. Haddock in the skillet but I made my breading first..

Just finished eating one sausage patty and one egg.
I had raspberry toaster waffles for breakfast. I had never seen that type before but they had them at Wegman's the award winning grocery store that built a store about 45 minutes from me. I also made a macaroni salad last night, and I was given input by many different people as to macaroni salad. I guess that begs the question..What do you put in your macaroni salad? I put a variety of veggies in mine, plus part mayo and part plain yogurt and mustard. What sorts of ingedients make up your macaroni salad?
Warmish again today, so BBQ was the only option.. No heat in the kitchen, not that the air conditioner wouldn't help....
Princess had a frozen marinated chicken breast and I had a steak with a sausage.. Yes, I pigged out...
Went to the veggie garden and came back with veggies for a fresh salad.. made my own dressing which was perfect..

I was hungry yesterday morning. I had 2 sausage pattys, 2 eggs and some instant grits.
Supper tonight (Tuesday) was mini meatloaves..
I made a meatloaf and instead of putting it in a loaf pan, I put it in a muffin tin and made mini loaves..
Worked out that I made 12 mini loaves and we ate each 3 so I have leftovers.....
Another fresh salad was the veggie.. We love salads especially this time of the year when it is fresh from our veggie garden...
Made some fish for supper tonight..

I love butternut squash, @Steve North but never had it with peas. Was your squash cubed with some peas thrown in or mashed with some peas thrown in?
I can picture it both ways and looks pretty in my head...the two colors. Just curious to how you had it.
I cubed the squash, steamed it.......
Meanwhile, I put the frozen peas in a pot of water to boil..
I mashed the squash, added herbs and spices, and then with a slotted spoon, added the peas and mixed everything.. I served the mixture with a large ice-cream scoop making a scoop of veggies on the plate.. I then added a swig of fresh parsley sticking up from the top of the scoop..
It presents well.. A good looking plate well presented always seems to taste better.. People appreciate the extra effort..............
Intend on baking a crustless quiche today. It contains eggs, shredded cheese, and broccoli florets. Should be easy to make and easy to eat.
FISH...... I took a few pieces of fish, breaded them, and fried them in EVOO.....

Today was cold compared to the heat we have been having.. It was only 18c today and it is going down to 6c for overnight.. it is seasonable but after the hot summer we had, it feels cold..
BBQ tonight (Sunday) as I just don't feel like cooking indoors..
I took out of the freezer some burgers and put them on the grill frozen..
I did go to the garden to get some veggies for a salad.. Those grape yellow tomatoes are something else.. I munch on them all day.. simply delicious..
I cut up a cantaloupe and we had a delicious desert..
