In the movie "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles", Steve Martin has a scene at the Marathon Car Rental Agency desk where he uses the word "F - - - ing" 18 times! Go to YouTube and select "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles" (Marathon Car Rental Scene). Hal
I saw the movie, don't remember that particular scene but I'm one that's not bothered by it...unless it's constant.
I can’t think of any reason why I would want to watch a youtube video just to hear someone using foul language. In fact, knowing that is a good reason why I would NOT care to see that video. Now I am glad that you can’t figure out how to post videos, @Hal Pollner ! !
You misunderstand, Yvonne... Even if I knew how, I certainly wouldn't post something as disgusting as that! I'm surprised a clean-cut type of actor like Steve Martin ever consented to speak such lines! Hal
So , Hal ..........why did you tell us all that we should go and look at the video then, if you found it that disgusting yourself ? (Still perplexed)
To be honest,Yvonne...I found it humorous, but only because Steve Martin was delivering the lines, and I thought that other guys on this forum might find it humorous too. If Sylvester Stallone or Robert Deniro or Jack Nicholson had spoken those lines, I would have simply thought it was disgusting. If you can't see my reasoning for doing this, then I guess the least I can do is apologize for suggesting that others watch it. Harold
Steve Martin was a stand-up comedian long before he got on Saturday Night Live, then made the leap to movies. Like many such comedians (Bob Saget, Richard Pryor, Dane Cook, Adam Sandler, etc.), cussing like a drunk sailor came with the territory. Prudes and wannabe censors tend to avoid comedy clubs, or at least do their homework prior, and know which comedian is of the Walt Disney mindset.
@Patsy Faye But, what if he made it up? You found him out, exposed him, and he had you: "Made you look, made you look......" @Holly Saunders Just came to mind, thinking about my sentence above, several other descriptive words: Charlatan Mountebank
Esteemed Members, I hope we can put this to bed without my forfeiting all my "likes"! At least I didn't post the actual nasty video...only a reference to it. Perhaps we can move on to Early Rennaisance Sketching? Hal
I like Steve Martin and I thought that movie was hilarious. Remember it as being a family type holiday movie around Thanksgiving. I also remember they were casting for extras for that movie when we lived in Illinois. My hubby and kids went but didn't get it. I didn't go...
