I have been playing on the computer since the mid eighties when my first "computer" was an old Texas Instrument. All it actually consisted of was a keyboard that hooked into the television set and just about all you could do was make titles for videos. When the internet came about, I was using my computer at work and it was C dos and although everything you needed to took a fair knowledge of making trial and error batch files and finally with some luck the program would work. I remember when Windows made their arrival I was one of the people who decided that is was just a stupid fad and would not last very long (I am not always right)! My first home computer was a "WebTV" unit which was pretty cool even if it was somewhat limited. Now, of course I have a modern PC and can do just about anything I want to and rarely get into a jam. Now where am I going with all of this? Simple! I have been on the web for years and have been a member of many forums, but this is first one that is actual. Actual meaning having members who are real people and not remade versions! So to @Ken Anderson who started it and all the members, "Thank You!"
I want to add my Thanks also. It is nice to have a place where the conversation makes sense and relative to the real world. The group has a good mix of experences and knowledge. I enjoy coming to the site to see what is up with the group and read the great stories shared here.
I really enjoy the forum as well. I have belonged to several seniors forums and used to do Yahoo groups for people over fifty. I think this is always an interesting forum, and the members get along, and still we are able to voice our own opinions and feelings about things. You have done a great job setting up this forum, Ken, and to me, it is everything a forum should be. You participate with us in the forum, without controling content, and yet keep it all running smoothly.
Yes, Ken, thanks for making it a great place to visit. I love that we are able to talk about "grown up" stuff, but with a sense of humor and fun. it's like having coffee with a friend. Everyone gets along so well, even though we may not always agree. You have created a welcoming forum. Thanks again for all the hard work!
Oooh, a thank you thread, how did I miss this? Yes, Ken, thank you for creating this forum. I appreciate the level of maturity, with just the right touch of humor. It's a breath of fresh air, and I always enjoy the time I spend here.
Really, I smile frequently when I come to this forum. I think we have a variety of topics that take us into great conversation for a few moments a day.
I agree. I have been looking for a decent forum to post on for a while now. They always seem to have no activity, or lots of activity from kids my daughter's age and younger. So, a HUGE thank you. I think I rather like it here
Without trying to sound like an old fogey, it's nice to have somewhere to have a civilised conversation these days. Too many forums (or fora for those that prefer Latin) seem to degenerate into petty points-scoring and mudslinging.
Me too I'd like to add my thank you for such a fun and learning forum. Though I had to learn too to do things right and then it becomes so easy. Thanks to this forum and the people of the forum I'm having fun, learning and growing here. Thanks so much everyone! Thanks so much for a nice forum I look forward to almost daily.
