I probably should have titled this "Character Actresses." Supporting actresses can become stars, and vice versa. Sadly you can rarely find short video clips of their performances. Jane Darwell She received the Academy Award for best supporting actress in Grapes of Wrath in 1941. I don't remember any other women who said much of anything in that movie.
