Who were your favorite supporting actresses?

One of mine was Katy Jurado.

Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (1973)
I've never even seen this movie, but just this one scene makes me cry. . No one has to say a word.

I probably should have titled this "Character Actresses." Supporting actresses can become stars, and vice versa. Sadly you can rarely find short video clips of their performances.

    Jane Darwell

She received the Academy Award for best supporting actress in Grapes of Wrath in 1941. I don't remember any other women who said much of anything in that movie.

Thanks Cody. I hadn't heard of two of them. Recognize the second after seeing her picture.

    Regina King and Rachel Weisz

    May Robson

"May Robson (1858 – 1942) was an Australian-born actress, whose career spanned 58 years. A major stage actress of the late 19th and early 20th century, Robson is best known today for the dozens of 1930's motion pictures she appeared in when she was well into her 70's, usually playing cross old women with hearts of gold."

Clip from the movie Daughters Courageous (1939)
