The last of the Star Wars movies will come to theaters next Friday, Dec 20th. It's called, Star Wars/The Rise Of Skywalker.

We've had our tickets for opening day/night, next Friday, for a couple of months now. Looking very, very forward to this movie.

We are big Star Wars fans, but not huge. We have numerous pictures, small figurines and a few other things, like a medium size models of the Millennium Falcon, X-Wing Fighter, Kylo Ren's & Darth Vader's Fighter. I also have a rather "real looking" Jeti Lightsaber ($125 from Walmart). And, of course, we have our Star Wars costumes. Mine: Vader. Wife: original Stormtrooper. Only movie we don't have is Solo. Have all of the rest.

We went to one Star Wars Celebration when it was in Orlando a few years ago. Absolutely unbelievable how much money people were spending on Star Wars stuff! Also seen some very authentic looking costumes.

I was 27, and wife 28, when Star Wars/A New Hope came out in 1977.

NOT HUGE???...good lord you and your wife dress up as Star Wars Characters, how does that not make you HUGE fans ?

The film was made at Elstree studios near where I live ...and the sound stages there are named After George Lucas...

I was working in the Cinema part-time in the evenings as an Usherette when Star Wars was released in ''77 we had it running in the largest one, studio 1.. which was an 800 seater.. for 15 weeks and we had a full house every night ..it was really hard to get people out of their seats to go home late at night after the long credits went up at around 11pm (we had 3 theatres to look after at the same time) long before the days of the multiplexes

Well, even with what we have/bought, you simply wouldn't believe the money being spent at that Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, FL for Star Wars stuff. This is why I say we are "big, not huge" Star Wars fans. One guy we met, has a very large scale model of the Millennium Falcon hanging from a ceiling in a spare bedroom that cost him over $2,000.

It's like seeing some ones "normal" outdoor Christmas décor, then seeing a family's outdoor extravaganza of Christmas décor that runs off of electricity, electronics, and music. People would definitely know who spent the most money on outdoor Christmas décor.

Perhaps that this upcoming movie is the last one. Apparently there is a movie out about Bo Fetta, the Bounty Hunter. We are interested in it, just like we weren't that interested in the movie about how Hans Solo got the Falcon.

That there will be no further Star Wars movies. Or did I misunderstand this thread?

It's hard to believe one movie series has stayed so popular for so long and people of all age groups love it. They made billions on just the merchandising!! Now that my sons and grandsons are of the ages they no longer play with toys, I almost miss getting to buy the stuff. When I tried the Disney Plus trial on their new channel, I rewatched all the ones they had one there. It also had a documentary on how it was made and all sorts of interesting information.

It is so popular and as a big money maker it is hard to believe they will kill a golden goose.

Yes, it all started in 1977. Unfortunately, George Lucas done the first six movies in reverse, starting with the last three first and then doing the first three second. Then came The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Solo and Rise of Skywalker. Rogue One was an "insert" movie actually coming between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope on how Princess Lea got the plans for the Death Star. In a post above, I explained where the movie Solo came from.

So, as stated already, the only movie we haven't go is Solo.

No "spoiler" thing, but Billy Dee Williams is in this last movie, as is Carrie Fisher. From what I read, a deleted scene from The Last Jedi, with Carrie Fisher in it, was inserted into this new movie (Rise of Skywalker).

Yes, I definitely know about the Star Wars saga, including the characters.

Thanks, you're right. You know about Star Wars when Boba Fett was in it? From what I know, while watching the first six movies, the first Boba Fett was the father then his son took over the helmet/outfit after the father was killed in the arena fight. Am I correct? There were other things, off set, that happened in the Saga as well. Way to many to post here.

But hey, that could be a whole new movie idea for the franchise. Boba Fett and his lost brother Bo Fetta. :D

TNT Network has been showing all of the movies, except for, Solo and The Last Jedi all weekend. Currently, The Force Awakens is on.
