an engine threw a fan blade was the cause. I thought these engines had vibration sensors to shut em down. they were lucky the entire fan disc didn't disintegrate http://www.click2houston.com/news/v...tly-for-hours-captain-begs-passengers-to-pray passengers described it as being inside a washing machine
OH dear God 2 HOURS?????? I was on a plane just 3 days ago,,if it had started that shaking like that and we were asked to pray ..I would have had a heart attack right there and then!! ...never mind 2 hours into it...
it is scary but I think the engine should have shut down. that prevent it from flying apart and taking a wing with it.
The people didn't look too scared. I saw another video this morning and the guy filming that one was smiling. No screams either... My worst flight ever was flying in to Casper, Wyoming in a Puddlejumper. The other passengers said it was normal and not to worry its always very turbulent there.
This is the video I'm talking about. http://www.bbc.com/news/video_and_a.../air-asia-plane-suffers-washing-machine-fault
