My first question Ruby is what do you like doing most for relaxation, apart from chatting to us of course ;)

Good morning, Ruby! My question for you, is: are you a collector?....and if so, tell us about one of your collections. I collect dust, myself.;)

Hi Ruby, I feel like we are good friends but don't know much about you. When do you think you will retire and what are your plans when you do?

Apart from chatting with my friends here... everything else pales in comparison!

    These are enjoyable and do make me feel relaxed after a 40 hour work week;
Watching TV, cooking while listening to music, playing with my dog, caring for my plants, surfing the Internet, solving crossword puzzles, reading , listening to comedy, going out to lunch.

I used to feel peaceful when outside working in my flower garden or going down to the shore, but no gardens anymore and it's more of a hassle to get to the shore now so I don't go.

    Good Morning Joe!

I surely wouldn't want to give you the "brush-off".

Collecting books but especially vintage magazines was my passion some years ago. I gave it all away when I purged before a big move. Ditto with my sea shell collection.

The mags I loved most were pre and post turn of the century ladie's magazines, and up through the 1930's. The illustrations in the early editions were so beautiful.

Some articles I had included interviews with Buffalo Bill Cody, Joel Chandler Harris and Theodore Roosevelt who were all living at the time.

I admit I do miss the magazines sometimes.

Chrissy, I enjoy having you for a good friend!

As to retirement, I don't see how I could unless I got a reverse mortgage and even then I'd have to be very careful. I have only myself to rely on. I think I could do it with careful planning but I've only just begun to toy with the idea. Plans afterward? I don't even have a one!

Do you still enjoy your work Ruby or is it mainly to bring in the cash to survive?

Hi Ruby...I have to ask which two famous people you'd like to have dinner with.

    Also:
What are your two proudest moments?
What's the nicest thing someone said to you?

Terry, no I do not enjoy my work anymore. It's for financial reasons.

However, I am lucky in that for the past 4 years I've been working from home since my company finaly adopted the remote worker program.

No more driving into the office in all kinds of weather which is a relief. I can work in my pj's, and before I quit smoking, smoke at my desk.

I shouldn't complain, but I am sick of the job.

Ruby, if I remember correctly, you said elsewhere that you were an orphan growing up. ...
That hit me when I read it, as it brought back childhood memories of my own.
Living with a distant mother, I would have screaming fits about wanting to go live in an orphanage.
I guess I was off base, but the feelings were very real.

I guess I want to ask, did you have a painful childhood?
How did it affect the person you've become? ....... Someone that I admire & enjoy very much, I might add.:)

Karen, I'd love to have dinner with the hysterically funny Jennifer Saunders and the brilliant and also funny, Neil Degrasse Tyson.

Two proudest moments- I'm sorry but it has to be 3, and predictably, these are the births of my son and my 2 grandsons.

The nicest thing anyone said to me; "I wish you were my mother."
