Most likely New Zealand...
Same question again...
I would be Spain as I already have a Home there .... if not there then probably Australia
Name your desert Island 6 songs.. ( no albums or CD's)...
I love the things my ears can do - Charlie Landsborough
I love - Tom T. Hall
For loving you - Bill Anderson and Jan Howard
Dang me - Roger Miller
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas - ?
My Sombrero ees to beeg - Mel Blanc
How do you like my choices?
Pretty good ones Shirley, they show us that quirky side you let us see now and then.
When was the last time you thought about whistling at someone?
I have a slight problem with that one....
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WHISTLE.... I tried everything and ......... I CAN'T WHISTLE..
However, that being said, I always want to whistle at my dear wife whom I find very whistle-able at..
Flu season is upon us.. Will you be getting the flu shot ???
We get it every year and I have been getting it for the past 40 years.. NEVER HAD THE FLU...
Yes, I’ll be getting one next week. (P.S. I can’t whistle either. But my hubby could. He learned in the Marines, “He said”. )
Can you spontaneously wink? (I can’t do that either.)
Yes I can wink easily... and I can whistle.. always have been able to..normally and through my fingers as well..like a boy!
@Shirley Martin ...I love the hippo song too..I always play it at Christmas it's such fun..... ... and as you know I love Charlie.... but oh I cannot abide Bill Anderson's singing..oooh my poor ears...
What song, if it comes on the radio has you immediately grabbing for the OFF switch? ...and what TV programme has you doing the same.. ?
If I hear anything that resembles Heavy Metal Rock, I will turn the radio off.. Can't stand that kind of loud noise..
As far as TV goes, I don't really have control of the remote at all.. I let my wife choose her programs and whatever she watches, I will as well, and if I don't like the program, I will either take a nap or go on the computer.....
I keep on teasing her that it is her TV and she can watch what she wants...
As I am sort of running out of questions, I will repeat the last one again.....
Three songs Will guarantee me reaching for the off switch. Purple rain, and MULL of Kintyre, and also ,''stuck in the middle with you''by stealers wheel.
TV programs which make me turn off tend to be shows like the real housewives of anywhere, or any boring Victorian drama because the historians on those programs never get it right , and I spend the whole Time critiquing the show it takes away any enjoyment.
Continue with the same question
I will walk out of the room immediately if any kind of shark show, even if it is a documentary, comes on the screen. Almost as bad for me, are horror movies.
What was the funniest mistake you made as a young adult, that you tried to teach your child, or any young person, not to repeat?
I'm not sure it was funny but it was fun. My cousin had a convertible. Sometimes when we were cruising down the back roads, he would sit on the back of the drivers seat. He would steer with his feet while I pressed the accelerator. I wouldn't advise anybody to do that.
Why do you think young people don't see the dangers we old folks see?
Because the many of the young subconsciously don’t wish to see reality just yet.
If you could make one change in your local homeless community, what would that be?
Would you believe it, but here in Massey we don't have any homeless or any street people..
Actually, we don't even have a food bank that is that active either.. Anyone in trouble with that problem, one of the local businesses will give them a job to help them out........
Now, to answer your question...
How about using the system that we use here in Massey.. We help out anyone, or family, that needs help...
With Halloween almost here, do you like to watch horror shows or movies ???
Personally, I HATE horror shows or movies..
Some of the very successful movies recently are horror.. I don't understand it, but to each their own.......
@Steve North, your town sounds like a dream, but I don’t see that working for Houston, Texas.
Now as far as horror movies are concerned, I’m with you, and I always wonder why people make such movies. Do the authors of such movies never wonder if they might be giving ideas to those that might not have had them in the first place?
When you were a child, who did you want to be like when you grew up?
I wanted to be the best wife and Mama anybody ever had.
That question is worth repeating.
I had only one ambition when I was a youngster and it was to live to see the next day , which I never expected to do..so I never got as far as thinking I would eventually become an adult much less what I would do when I did....( so I won't go into that any further)...
What are you hoping to get as a gift this Christmas? ....and do you have anything special you're giving as a gift for someone else..or do you even buy Christmas gifts any more ?
I don’t. Know that I’d call it Special but I’m thinking of buying my daughter a dash cam for her car ,she’s on the road everyday traveling back and forth to work ..and it’s her birthday on the 26 th December so I normally get her a combined gift of something that useful, rather than stuff that eventually gets thrown out..I used to buy a decent gift ( like expencive shoes ) for my youngest GD ...but now she’s 12 going on 21 ..I just give her cash ..I wouldn’t have a clue what to buy her
Do you buy your other half .a gift for Christmas ...or do as I do , give them some money to buy what they want
Since my OH is deceased, I don't have an answer for that question. When he was alive, I bought him a gift.
Did you believe in Santa Claus? If you did, when did you find out the horrible truth?
I never had a belief in Santa Clause. Mt father said he was the Devil’s way of destroying the Christian’s belief in in Christ. At 14, I didn’t know if this were true or not, but I wanted my son to have knowledge of Santa and Christ, and then he was grown he would have the same right to make up his mind just as others did and do.
But to answer the question, yes I bought extravagant presents for my husband, and now it just seem like Christmas isn’t the same without the long search to for just the right surprise gift for him.
If you were single, and someone twenty years younger than you, asked you out, what would be your first response, and with time to think on it, would your answer be the same?
Why would a man twenty years younger than me ask an old biddie like me out?
That's a good question, @Ina I. Wonder . My first response would be what I just posted above. I think my answer would be, "Thanks for the compliment but I don't think it would work out." If he was ten years younger, maybe.
Would you date a man several years older than you?
Yes, I did that. Michael was ten years older than I. But I remember it freaked me out when someone seven years younger than I asked me out recently.
If you could change one thing that is illegal, and make it legal, what would it be???
To be able to watch TV in the Uk without buying an annual licence and the penalty is a High fine and or Prison Yep prison not just jail) ....so that should be illegal to make it illegal...
Also in Ireland abortion is illegal and women and young girls have to make an often scared and lonely trip to have it done in the UK...that should be legl in Ireland to permit a woman to do with her body what she wishes..
Also it should be Legal to permit patients who are in pain with little quality of life and terminally ill ... who have expressed a wish to terminate their own lives..to have that wish granted by a Judge and a Doctor without a long protracted court battle.
great question tho' @Ina I. Wonder , it really got me thinking, so I'll ask the next person too...
I agree with @Holly Saunders about euthanasia. Abortion is already legal here.
The only thing I would add is that it ought to be legal for me to keep a fish no matter how small it is, if it's big enough to eat. I really hate throwing back a 13 ½ inch fish when the size limit is 14 inches.
Do you eat fish?
Yes..yes..yes...I love fish......
I just came across a picture of me in the pink convertible. We may not have been bad but the Bad didn't mess with us. LOL The color is way off but it is an old picture.
