The weather people are telling us this is a once in a century weather event on our mid north coast.. a "perfect storm" while my home town Sydney is having its worst flooding since 1961. Australia has a reputation for weather extremes.. a three year dry spell gave us our worst fire season in memory now this flooding caused by an angry little girl, La Nina combining with two rare but extreme weather fronts that collided. https://7news.com.au/weather/sydney...me-washes-away-on-their-wedding-day-c-2395530 scroll down..
Hope things get better for you and your neighbors in the days to come. Seems it is always something goin on wrong no matter where we live.

@Don Alaska as you seem interested in this story.. below is a satellite shot of the extent of the "rain bomb"- caused flooding north/west of Sydney (L) . It is massive.. even larger than Sydney Harbor (R). The murky water can be seen discharging several miles out into the Pacific as the waters recede.
Homes are now seeing the bi-products of the floods as householders attempt the massive cleanup. Some residents are complaining of snakes and other creepy crawlies found in receding floodwaters while almost all have found a thick dark glug made up of mud, small debris and other items, even human effluent.
Were you directly affected, @Craig Wilson ? Thankfully not Don. We only had a week of incessant rain.. resulting in nothing more than two frustrated pooches and a flooded garage. @Don Alaska.
I see that on TV this morning @Craig Wilson about the septic waste mixed in with all the other debris Thank goodness they have not shown any poor dead animals ..it upsets me to see animals perish in floods / fires ect .I never understand how anyone can abuse animals
