Here is a picture of my Son David who was elected president of the Transportation Union of Canada.. Congratulations to Brother David Clark who has been elected the new National President of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE). Well deserved and our Union is in great hands.
thank-you Patsy.. When I say it is my son, it is really the son of my wife, however on our wedding day (in 1997) he came to me and said..... "you didn't father me which means you are not my father, but you married my mother.. Is it OK if I call you Dad"?????? Since then, I call him son and he calls me Dad....
Congratulations to your Son on being elected president of the UCTE...is that for the whole of the transport Union of Canada ..if so that's got to be a massive undertaking being as the country is so huge!. Has the transport Union in Canada got any bite...?...just asking because the transport Union in the UK hold this country to ransom!! That's not to take away from your son's achievement...and now he's going to be a very well known name in Canadian transport history, good on him, and I hope he does a wonderful job for the Canadian transport workers ... !!
Thanks everyone.. He called us last night from Winnipeg where there is a strike going on at the airport.. He after the meeting had another meeting with our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau.. This was only the second day on the job as Union President and he already was having meetings with our Prime Minister........................... WOW !!!!
I know you and your wife could not be prouder. I don't think the father in you cares if he is your biological son or not. That part of us just seem to recognize the bonds we make with children, and not so much who belongs to whom. I'm sure your son feels the bond as well. Congratulations to all of you Steve.
I will be off line for a few days.. Our son .... David ..... The President.... is coming to visit us on the week-end and he will be staying in our spare bedroom where the computer is.. I don't like to disturb him in order for me to use the computer, so I will not be on for a few days.. We haven't seen him in 4 years and this week-end will be a real treat to catch-up on everything.. He has now left Vancouver where he lived till he was elected President of the Canadian Transportation Union (UCTE) and has moved to Ottawa which is only an 8 hour drive from Massey.. Hopefully we will be seeing him more often now that he has moved to Ottawa..
