Tomorrow morning, we'll be heading off to our timeshare in Massanutten, Virginia. We'll be gone about ten or eleven days or so, depending on driving conditions, but I'll be online every day, at least at night, since it's been years since I have driven through the night.

We bought the timeshare from my brother about a decade ago but have never seen it. We've used the points to stay at other places, and have lent our week out to our pastor and his family a couple of times, and to our daughter once. It's a four-bedroom timeshare, with a patio and I don't remember what else. Everyone we've lent it to say that it's very nice, so we thought we'd go see it.

For the next couple of days, I will be online only at night. Once we get there, I'll be online off and on throughout the day, since we'll still be working online.

The bad part of traveling is that I'll miss my cats and they are never pleased when we're away. We have someone coming into to take care of them but she never even sees the two black ones because they hide from her.

Hidden cats may be the least likely to slip out an open door, as cats have been known to do.

I worry about that when I'm gone but fortunately, we have two sets of doors. So as long as the woman who is taking care of the cats makes sure the outer is closed before she opens the inner door, they can't get out.

Ha! Like an "air-lock"! Reminds me of those 1 or 2 stores along our main drag when I was a kid, that had revolving doors! They intrigued me even then. My Mother told me they blocked the cold wind from coming in. That, from a Greenhorn lady immigrant from Europe (my analysis NOW, not then!).

I still wonder how she knew in 1950 that carrots were very good for me: they had Carotene, important for the eyes.

Ever noticed people, especially those with kids, that don't take pictures of where they go. Don't even use their cell phone for pictures. We don't go to any event and not take photos. When we were at a Water Park, we had a "underwater" camera with us.

@Cody Fousnaugh , you must be going to different places than I do. Everywhere I go, I constantly see people with their cell phones in their hands, taking pictures.

If the stuff I built and experimented with years ago qualify as events, it would today be very desirable to have preserved pictures of them. Sad to say, I have very few, only memories.

We do see the same, but it’s more young kids or adults (single or married) that don’t have kids.

I just wonder how many parents, of today’s generations, have photo albums of their kids growing up? Wife and I have photos, on USB’s, going all the way back to the year we met (2000).

Unless forced to otherwise, we generally only drive until about 6:00 pm or so, and then stop for the night. We're in West Hazelton, Pennsylvania for the night, at a Comfort Inn. Going home, we might make it with only one stopover. Tomorrow, we'll have only a few hours before we arrive at our timeshare.

I think today's parents have way more photos than we ever did. My niece had her baby aug. 31 and so far Ive seen at least one or two pics of her every single day.

I much prefer my camera to the iPhone for taking photos, but I often take my camera with me and forget to take any pictures.

Our timeshare is at Woodstone Meadows at Massanutten Resorts in Massanutten, Virginia. Four bedrooms are a bit more than we need but we can trade down for a one- or two-bedroom unit, and bank the points. With the points that we get for this unit, we get a lot of points that can be used through RCI for smaller units throughout the country, and even hotel rooms.

Also, since it's a ski resort and we don't ski, it doesn't cost nearly as many points in the off-season. Here's the link to the resort itself. There are a lot of activities, most or all of which we won't avail ourselves of, but still.

We are here. The place is very nice, and very large - and we're only using half of it. Obviously, we don't need the four bedrooms that we own for this week - ours is a four-bedroom timeshare, but can be divided into two units, one with a full kitchen, the other with a partial kitchen, whatever that means. So we get points that we can use elsewhere when they rent all or part of our unit during our week, and we can use them for hotels or another timeshare on another date. I'll post some pictures tomorrow, probably.

That's good to know and I'm sure you have left strict instructions. My experience is that cats will retreat away from the door not toward the door when someone they don't know is coming through it. My cats hiding place if my step dad is here or the vacuum starts is behind the bed.

I think it's nice to get away. I hope you have a good time and safe travels.

I'll post them when I get home. I never remember to bring my camera in from the car.
