I've been planning what menu I'll have for the holidays. This year I think I'll have chuck roast for pot roast to cook for the holidays. Anyone find any good sales for chuck roast beef? Locally we can buy it for an average price of $4.99 a pound. I want to make something different this year for the holidays.
@Krissttina Isobe, this thread reminds me of our preparation for Christmas. Last weekend, we were in the supermarket. I was surprised when I noticed 2 cans of fruit cocktail in the cart. When we got home, my husband said that he was preparing for our Christmas food. What? At this early? And then I remembered last year that there was a mad scramble for fruit cocktails. It seemed that every Tom, Dick and Harry were going to have fruit salad hence the grocery racks were empty. So, okay, I agreed to the foresight. So maybe we need to get 2 more cans of fruit cocktail this weekend.
