Hello Seniors ! Are any of you having a Birthday this month? On the 11th, I'll be observing the completion of 82 years of life. Remember, birthdays represent the completion of years of life, not the year you're starting! Cheerio... Hal
I may or may not have a birthday in July, I'll have to check with my youngest son... Back story: We happened to be visiting my parents during the time of my birthday, and my youngest son, who was 3 at the time, thought it would be great to say, "No, my birthday!!!!" ( he was born in December ) So the wife, thinking that was SO cute, he pretty much stole my birthday as his own. Hence, he got two that year. Since that time, I always check with him ( he's 30 now ) if I can celebrate my birthday or did he 'take' it again.
For the same reasons I celebrate my anniversary, wife's birthday, my son's birthdays, etc. Happy that I am surrounded by the people I love and care about. Life is too short to be a 'Debbie Downer'.
Hello, Forumites! Today I'm celebrating the completion of 82 years of life, also known as my 82nd Birthday. Tomorrow I'll be entering my 83rd year of life. I'm thankful that I'm enjoying good physical, mental, and financial health, except for a mildly arthritic lower back. I've never had a hospital stay, and gave up smoking 41 years ago. I've been retired for exactly 20 years yesterday, and am enjoying my retirement because of good friends like you all, and of course my Family, my Wife, and other Pets! Various hobbies keep me active as well. Below is a picture of a 1936 Ford 4 door sedan, like the one I owned while in high school in the early 1950's. It was the only car of the 27 I've owned that was the same age as me! It's new car Full Price in 1936 was $580. Cheers, Hal (I'm having my favorite dinner at the Steer & Stein tonight: Country Fried Steak with a 32-oz. Stein of Beer!)
@Hal Pollner A very happy birthday to you, friend! Enjoy your night out, take care, we're all getting older, ya know! Frank
Enjoy your Birthday dinner @Hal Pollner . I'm a big fan of vintage vehicles... and that one looks very similar to the vintage Austin 10 my father owned in the 60's..
Hal, wife and I can only HOPE we make it to your age. When my wife turned 70 this past January, she said "turning 70 is ok, but not nearly as good as I thought it would be." She also said "thought these aches and pains would go away when I turned 70, definitely didn't happen."
I wished you a Happy Birthday already in the Birthday thread but I'll do it again here... Happy Birthday, Hal! Enjoy your dinner tonight!
