It was the best car shopping experience of my life. And even though I was not shopping for my dream car....I ended up with it anyway. I told the saleswoman who was helping me online that at 65 years of age I did not want to come sit in a Car Dealership and have to go through hours of a salesperson trying to wear me down so they could get the price, etc. they wanted me to pay. So we worked through emails and a few phone calls....and when they gave me the deal I wanted (after doing my research before hand, etc.) and we reached agreement, I went in and did a test drive and then told them I would take a few days to think about it. During those few days, I received another email with an even better deal. I asked my salesperson to email me the last offer and printed it off. Then I called her, told her I would take it and to have all the paperwork ready to sign on Monday so we could just sign it and take our car home. Which is exactly what we did. We got my dream car at a great price, double trade in values on our old vehicles, and lots more. This should be our last vehicle and I can say that buying my dream car ended up being a pleasure for a change.

Wow, that is BEAUTIFUL, @Babs Hunt , and that would be a dream car for me, too ! ! I love those Kia Soul cars, and yours is a beautiful green as well.
I am glad that shopping online worked so well, and it seems like that would eliminate a lot of the pressure from salespeople. Some of them can be pretty underhanded with their tricks to sell you a car.
I remember once, years ago, when I was young and the kids were little, we had gone to look for a different used car. The car lot didn't have just what we wanted, but the salesman said that he had another lot across town, and drove us over there to look. We didn't find one we wanted there, either, and the salesman just went off and left us there since we didn't buy a car.
We had to get back across town to even get our own car to drive home ! After that experience, I was very careful to NEVER go anywhere with the sales person and leave my own car behind. I am sure that most of them didn't do such cheap tricks, and probably would not get by with that anymore, but it left a lasting impression with me.
The new Soul is beautiful, and a Kia is an excellent vehicle. Kia Sportage is what @Ina I. Wonder has, and she loves her Kia, too.

Welcome back to the forum, Babs ! ! We have missed you around here.

Thank you @Yvonne Smith We do love our Kia Soul too. I don't know if you noticed but above the head lights are long black eyelashes on our car. My husband gets alot of teasing when he drives the car with those "flirty" eyelashes, but I love them! I am glad I am back too so thank you for the warm welcome back.

I did see the eyelashes, and I LOVE those, too, Babs! ! I have seen VW Bugs that had cutsey eyelashes and lips and other things to doll it up, and the Soul looks to me like another vehicle that can be customized like that and wear it perfectly.
Any car that is advertised as being driven around by hamsters has got to be one with a unique personality, and I just loved watching those Kia Soul ads with the cute little hamsters in them.

Yes, I love the commercials with the hamsters also! A few years ago I printed off a green Kia Soul and put in in my dream folder as my next car...but I never thought I would see this dream come true. :)

Nice! Now, I go even further. Looking at a nice used car, I asked the sales guy if they accepted credit cards. Credit cards? I'll ask the boss. Blah, blah, most banks limit large purchase, blah, blah, .........so finally I told them the car was simply not for me.

Unfortunately, I had given the salesman an email ID, and he has sought a sale over and over. Poor guy. Rough business, that.

Newest "sling" (according to my wife): TRUE THAT!

Will you be driving the new car when you go to Houston to visit your grand babies from now on, or is it still better to go there on the train ? that is such an awesome car, and I have loved them ever since I saw the first one when they came out with the Kia Soul.
I used to have an older Kia Sportage, and I really loved that little vehicle. My daughter had a Chevy Tracker, and of course, that has always been what I wanted, and the Sportage was at least close to the Tracker.
The Soul seems more like a minivan, but not quite like that either. What is it like inside ?

I will only be driving the Kia to Houston if my husband and I go there together. I love riding the train and will not give that pleasure up for driving by myself over there in any car. :)

Nice car, but definitely too small for me. As it is, I need the driver's seat pushed all the way back in our Dodge Durango and in our Dodge RAM 1500. BTW, did I say "we are a Dodge couple" LOL. Yes, they both eat gas, especially the RAM, but the Durango pulls our 20' powerboat/trailer very nicely. Would love to get a Sebring Touring Convertible, but don't know if I'd fit in that. Besides that, we'd have to staying living where we are and wife continuing her job. Well, that isn't going to happen. Both of our vehicles have over 100k miles on them.

You might fit if you took off your Darth Vader outfit. :) I'm just kidding, Cody.

I like my small car except for the fact that the road is filled with SUVs and minivans and I can't see over them.
