The landscaper, who was grading the back yard, took this picture of a red-tailed hawk on the deck Wednesday. Sometimes I put seeds on the deck railing for the birds. Gotta quit that, and give the birds more cover from above. I've never seen one this close to the house before.
You running a buffet? I'm surprised that as many hawks as there are here, I've yet to see a kill (birds or rabbits or squirrels.)
I mentioned before that my daughter on her dog walks, a couple times came up close to hawks in the busy neighborhood...not country but city. Every morning I hear a swacking of hawks or geese but I'm thinking the hawks come near my place too, I don't live too far from my daughter. These birds whatever they are sure are noisy.... Those hawks are some awesome large birds. Canadian geese are around some of our CA parks too
