My name is Amie and I'm glad to be here. Looking forward to getting to know you all.
C'mon in Amie, we're a friendly bunch. have a cup of coffee and tell where you're from. People on here are from all over the globe. Many of us put our location at the bottom of our posts.
I'm sorry. I'm from Louisiana, originally, but I moved to North Florida about a year ago. Loving it here so far, but it's a far stretch from the bayou. I'm sort of a privacy nut, not even on social media (FB, etc.), so that's as much as I'm comfortable sharing about where I live.
Welcome from California, Amie.
Howdy and welcome Amie. I live just NE of Houston, Texas. I know what you mean about the bayous. I too grew up on them. Louisiana has many more, and many are still part of a wilderness that you just can't explain, but you'll feel their effects forever.
I hope we can hold your interest long enough to makes friends. We are a bunch that just want to appreciate this world and each other. None of us are interested in directing others, but we do enjoy the diversity of what we all bring to each other.
I'll always be a Cajun, no matter where I live. It was hard leaving, but I needed to try to live somewhere else before I died. I have a friend here, so I came here to see how it went. So far, so good.
I already think you're a great bunch of people, so I think we'll be fine.

Ca Viens Amie?!! Now we gonna have some kinda fun! St. Mary parish here but I lived in New Orleans the majority of my younger life. My last name has an "Le" in front of it so that should solidify things a bit. My wife and I live in north Alabama which is just a throw from home.
Needless to say Amie, you are a very welcome person here at SeniorsOnly! Laissez le bon temps rouler!
Hi Aimie, Welcome to the club!
Welcome Amie! .. from Houston, Texas.
I understand your love of the Bayou, but life in Florida can't be bad either.
Come and visit us often.
Welcome, @Amie Warren ! We are glad to have you in the forum, and there is lots to talk about here, so just find a topic that you are interested in , and join right in.
I am a north Idaho transplant to Alabama, and am happy living here in the South.
Although the rest of the seasons are great in Idaho, I do not miss that deep snow and the below zero temperatures that we had in the winter.
I enjoy being able to spend time outside in nice weather, and we usually grow a small garden, and Alabama has a good growing season.
Welcome @Amie Warren hope you enjoy your time in this friendly place.
