My Grandmother taught me. The only thing I wanted from my parent's estate was her rolling pin and somehow it got lost in the shuffle:( Hadn't thought about that in years.

Wonder how come in the US we do not hear of or get to eat more of the Jewish cuisine? Gonna have to check that out.

When I lived in NY, in my youth, I worked in a Jewish bakery. There were delis and small restaurants...
I guess it depends on the Jewish population in the area.

Other than lox & bagels (which I love) and matzah and Kosher deli meats, I can't really think of many traditional Jewish foods. I believe most of it is constructed around how the food was prepared, not specific dishes. I don't think there's much you could build a restaurant menu around, is there?

John........ There are many different typical Jewish dishes..
Now, it also depends from which area of Europe you come from.. Each country has their different way of preparing different dishes..
There are also several standard dishes that everyone does the same way.. Naturally every cook has their own sort of way of doing it..

I worked at a Jewish deli.. it was amazing place. Everything was made fresh daily. Cheese cake ,bagels, kosher chili..the guy was terrible to work for - i was the 20th waitress that year. But the food was as they use to say-was to die for!
    This was in Missouri .
