Tony's thread reminded me of the times here with grandkids when they came for the summer every year, they spent the whole summer here with us so we had a nice long visit. We had 4 to 6 all summer sometimes as many as 10 on holidays or shorter visits with those in Texas and those who didn't come down from Atlanta area. When they all came at once along with family we had a few tent's set up and the kids loved it! Which they were used to tents from camping trips with us and youngest daughters camping times. I don't know how to load pictures from library so Jake will put up them digging my pond and the pond after we got through.
They were lots of help and we always treated them to trip to the beach ,fishing, boating and diving in The Keys or Snow skiing ONCE. Now most have kids of their own or busy working so seldom hear from most of them.
Here is a letter one sent to her sister from prison. 13 grands and 2 got in trouble with the law. She mentions me aka Nana in the letter and the great times she had here with us and how much she misses us. She got on drugs and will be middle aged before she gets out of prison, she was so talented and smart, but frugs don't care about all that. The rest of the letter, since we've written her and send her a little money.
Have one grandkid, from my first marriage, but have nothing to do with him. Due to the "estrangement" of me and my daughter, her son and husband have nothing to do with us. Wish it was different, but we all "wish" for things that can't/won't happen.
Sorry Cody but life goes on and seems you and your wife are enjoying it. Anyway, grandkids aren't for everyone. Ours don't come around now that they are grown, but I do send little letter to greatgrands ,they love getting mail.
