My sister's only son got a good break with a promotion and a salary increase. But the price he has to pay is the work assignment in a distant province. He was deployed there last Sunday. By the way, he works as a ground crew of an airline. He said that work is easy since there are only 2 flights daily which they handle in the morning and in the afternoon. Now he will be staying in a dormitory. And to have peace of mind, my sister went to that province yesterday to check on her son's accommodation and needs. The province is around 8 hours drive from Manila and 1 hour by plane, I think.

Come to think of it, my nephew is now out of our radar. Occasions will come and go without him. He cannot join our summer vacations anymore and even trips abroad. I don't know if my nephew has regrets with his decision on his job but surely he would be lonely there since we have close family ties.

I'm happy for your nephew, sounds great.

All my nieces and nephew are far. 2 are a 2 hr flight and the rest are almost a 6 hr flight.
