I don't know what happened. Nothing like I was expecting. They tasted like 'candied' peas. With that said and what @Maggie Mae said I think I let them simmer too long and too much sugar.

I have lots more to try again.

I've never put sugar on mine .. might need to give that a try. I usually just steam them then add a little butter. My husband loves his melted cheese stuff on peas.

I love fresh peas, and like @Maggie Mae , I love to pick them and eat them fresh and raw, right off of the vine. I like green beans that way, too.
I always put peas in my salads.
Sometimes, I use canned peas, if I don’t have anything else; but otherwise, I get the frozen ones, put them in warm water to thaw while I make the salad, and then add them into the salad........Dee-lishius !
I can’t imagine putting sugar on peas, but my Grandma Bailey put sugar on her canned tomatoes and put in little broken pieces of bread. She loved tomatoes like that, but one taste, and I knew I wanted my cooked tomatoes with salt and pepper and NO soggy bread in it.
