For those of you who don't access conservative academic sites, here is a speech given by a brilliant member of the Hoover Institution explaining where Trump came from, how he got elected, and why he does what he does. It is about an hour in length, so be prepared. https://www.hillsdale.edu/live/amer...jAwdWRNJEFzYY3Dn-UZYjKp50A6PvQ&_hsmi=65882889
I haven’t neglected the thread you started but it is a little long so I’ll listen to it tonight and then give a good reply.
I highly recommend that y'all watch this. It is a little bit long but well worth the time. Some of it I knew in a scattered sort of way but he lays it out so that we can clearly understand.
What a coincidence! I happen to know a professor, Michael Jordan (not the basketball player), at Hillsdale College. He and his wife were my across-the-street neighbors here for 4 years while he was working on his degree in American literature. I listened to the whole thing, including the Q&A. I think both foreign affairs and international trade (trade deficits and tariffs) are very complicated subjects. I don't claim to understand either well enough. Mr. Hanson puts things in very simple terms, someone is getting more than their share, and it's not fair. People understand that. Doesn't mean it's that simple in a global setting.
Thank you, @Don Alaska for posting this video. I watched the whole video and agree with others that it is well worth viewing! Dr Hanson, has done a remarkable job of explaining the new foreign policy, and the 73 year old back story. I'd encourage everyone to watch it!
@Don Alaska "All you need for happiness is a good gun, a good horse, and a good wife." I could live without the last two, but not the first, happily. Frank
He brings everything into context and even though long, the interview is a must watch! Thanks, @Don Alaska
