    Hello,

Here's a mix of my favorite flower & seashell photos. The flowers & seashells featuring a black background are enjoyable indoor "tabletop" projects. Especially rainy day projects. They feature the use of black foam core board and a mirror for the photos featuring a reflection. These are essentially experiments with lighting that I find interesting. I hope you like them!

Amazing, Tony! I see photos of flowers a lot but not seashells. I would never even think to photograph them as you have done.

Do you blow these up and have them hanging on your walls? I would.

Thanks, Chrissy. I usually like a group of three smaller wall prints compared to one large print and of course, nowadays you can have photos printed on just about anything.

What I like most about photographing the seashells is that if the photo comes out well it can look as though it was photographed in a studio environment with fancy lighting and equipment. But these are literally tabletop projects that were photographed on a card table or kitchen counter top. As I've stated, they're enjoyable rainy day projects.

With "thin-walled" shells you can reveal amazingly intricate designs that might otherwise go unnoticed or appreciated by placing the light source underneath the shell. I've included a few in this next set, which I'll tag as "illuminated." In this set of photos I've included a starfish with really interesting textures.

In the case of photography like this, it's really an exploration and celebration of light and its effect on texture.

That's a mighty collection of sea shells photos and very interesting with some unique shells. I am a sort of sea shell collector. Whenever we go to the beach (we go there at least once a year) I never fail to bring home a sea shell or 2 to which my husband would frown. There was a time that we were on a small boat cruising the coral reef when the boat's pilot noticed a big sea shell. We landed on the coral reef to retrieve that sea shell. Here is the pic taken in 2014. That's my niece holding the live sea shell. IMG_4128 taklobo.jpg

Wow, every time I think the last group of photos that you posted were great, you outdo yourself with another set.

    These are truly beautiful!

@Patsy Faye , they'd look good on my walls also. :)

These shells and starfish can be purchased online or found at many of the shops you'd see on a municipal wharf. :)

Yes that's right Tony, I've only found some neat shells in Florida on the beach and you have to get up early before they're picked over. Also the surf usually breaks most of them.

And oddly, in the same moment I'm over here and not over there, as well. I know The Beatles were capable of being here, there & everywhere! :)
