Forgive the ignorance but are we talking about someone who financed the physical research or some portion of a dig? I cannot think of any “Eddie” affiliated with the research but if you could enlighten us as to his full name I might be able to get a grasp a portion of the historical significance of such a financial venture. There are not many philanthropists who can afford to donate millions without some type of return whether by name, status or monetary.
I think that Hal is referring to a comedian named Eddie Griffin that does a routine about the pyramids.
I love the research done on the pyramids but I do believe they do not have a clue of who built them and when they were built. There is a group on you tube [Myster History] that do a lot of great research and at the end it leaves you scratching your head
My Dear Forumites: When I refer to that person or persons who financed the building of the Cheops pyramid, during the dynasty of the Pharoah Khufu thousands of years ago, I'm referring to that task that took Egyptian craftsmen and laborers 20 years to complete, which was planned as a tomb for Khufu. The name "Eddie" is, of course, ridiculous! It's not even an Egyptian name, but sounds more like a Brooklyn gangster in the 1930's! You should have seen through this ruse! Hal
@Hal Pollner I shall from now on, carefully scrutinize your every insinuation, before even thinking about commenting! Frank
Yes, I know it was meant to be a joke but in the interest of preserving the integrity of the board itself, I steered you in the direction of writing some actual history having to do with the pyramid. Great Job!
