I just read that cooked canned tuna has lots of vitamins B6. B6 prevents heart attacks. Do you have any canned tuna recipes? We all know about tuna sandwiches and scrambled eggs with tuna. What else is there? *image from http://www.bumblebee.com/products/tuna/coral-chunk-light-tuna-in-oil/.
Krissttina, you should be able to find lots of recipes you like here: http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-00,tuna-noodle_casserole,FF.html
What a coincidence. This was our dinner last Sunday. We arrived from our Hongkong trip after dinner time and there was no food at home since it was already 10 pm. Fortunately there was cooked rice so there's no need to wait because it takes time to cook rice. But there's no viand or anything, not even hotdog in the freezer. And canned food is our only recourse - a choice between corned beef and tuna. I settled for tuna. One sliced onion, a few pieces of crushed garlic and one red tomato also sliced. That's the sauteeing ingredients. When partially cooked, we added the tuna and after 1 minute in the pan, off to the dining table it went.
I will sometimes make a big salad and top it with some tuna, black olives and grated or finely chopped cheese. I also sometimes make up what I call tuna mac n cheese. It's just the boxed macaroni and cheese and I add a little extra milk when I make the mix. I mix in almost a can of tuna (I give the rest to my cats) and add in a veggie, usually peas or french style green beans. @Sheldon Scott I love Cooks.com, I often find great recipes there! @Corie Henson I love corned beef, so might have gone for that, but also like tuna, and your dish sounds tasty, i'll have to try making that sometime.
Welcome to the forum, @Ruby Begonia , I don't think that we have ever had anyone who was 114 years old on the forum before; but maybe @Ken Anderson knows the answer to that question ?
Hi Yvonne, thanks for the welcome! I like to lie about my age, then when I realize how old I really am, I feel much younger. I love your hat!
