This summer, my daughter bought herself a Ducati morotcycle, and she has now joined a group of weekend riders, some of whom she works with during the week, and she has been going on trips with the group into some of the sightseeing spots around northern Alabama, and up into Tennessee.
This weekend they rode to a place called Dismal's Canyon, which is a beautiful and remote part of the state.
It is privately owned; but offers cabins and remote camping areas for people who want to visit overnight.
One of the most unique things about the canyon is the "glowworms" that live in the caves, and they can be seen at night.
These are called "Dismalites", and are actually larva that make webs and catch other bugs with the glowing blue light that they emit.
Here is the website, and it has a short video that shows the canyons and also the caves at night with the glowing worms.

That was fascinating. Beautiful scenery. Mother Nature adapts creatures in some curious ways, doesn't she?
