David Crosby, of Crosby, Stills, Nash or Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young has died. He was 81 years old. He had also been a founding member of The Byrds.

Man, they're dropping like flies. I was never a big CSNY fan (my ex was in love with Stills), but there were some songs where their harmony blew me away.

Crosby was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: with the Byrds and with CSNY.

For the curious, Still, Nash and Young are still alive at ages 78, 80 and 77, respectively.

    RIP, David.

I won't be surprised to see Neil Young pass in the near future. He hasn't looked well for a very long time. He was lead singer for Buffalo Springfield and had some great songs back then before moving on to the C,S,N,andY group.

CSNY were best when all four of them were together. Their music was terrific, but Young's voice carried it a level higher. I wasn't a fan of any of them, as people, but then, I didn't know or particularly care about them as people. As musicians, they were among my favorites.

I liked Nash when he was with the Hollies. The purity of an in-tune high-ranged male vocal is interesting...same goes for Steve Winwood.

I won't get into their personalities because I agree with you, except that although Crosby often leaned left, he was an early Warren Commission critic and a big supporter of the Second Amendment (according to the WWW.)

This hasn't been a good month for older rock pop guitarists. I am surprised that so many of them lived as long as they have. I agree that the best for any of them was when they were all four together. They really worked well together. RIP Dave.

This interview was before his death, by the way.

This was a song he wrote for David Crosby. Again, before his death.

When I search on "Graham Nash David Crosby" the word "feud" is suggested. The first hit is "Why David Crosby Can't Stand Ex-Bandmate Graham Nash."

    From one article:

It would seem that one of the biggest factors that drove David Crosby and Graham Nash to beef with each other in their golden years was the publication of the latter's autobiography, "Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life" in 2013. "Graham's book is full of inaccuracies and chock-full of misinformation," Crosby told The San Diego Union-Tribune in 2016. "When he handed (an advance copy) to me, he said: 'It's too late to change anything, but here it is.' I was very unhappy about it. It's a very shallow, very self-serving book, and full of b.s. Chock-full."

I had no idea. I guess there's no reason this stuff would even be on my radar screen unless I sought it out. And they were together for 50 years in such a weird way of living, and they are musicians, so what do you expect?

    Actually, I liked both bands.

My favorite Skynyrd song I dedicated to my son when his ship came back from the Gulf War [which I was against].He said they played as he was walking down the gang plank. he said first couple notes, he knew it was from me.

One of my favorites from Young,
