Chuck Berry, rock 'n' roll's founding guitar hero and storyteller who defined the music's joy and rebellion in such classics as "Johnny B. Goode," ''Sweet Little Sixteen" and "Roll Over Beethoven," died Saturday at his home in an unincorporated area west of St. Louis. He was 90.

The first song I ever danced to was by Chuck Berry. I didn't really realize he was that old. And, there were so many stories about his corruption of our youth. So tame by today's standards.

From what was said on my local radio station, Chuck was still doing road shows in Europe just this last year. One would only hope to have that kind of stamina at such a late stage in life.

Not to take anything away from a truly skilled performer, but his only number one hit was "My Ding-a-Ling."

......."his only number one hit was "My Ding-a-Ling."

Ranking depends on a fickle buying public. The very top best-selling hits of all time were, mysteriously, mostly instrumentals (like "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" by Perez Prado, that being the second-longest hit persevering in #1 spot 10 weeks, second only to, (Ugh, "Don't Be Cruel/Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley, 11 weeks).

    R. I. P. Mr. Berry. Lots of fun songs from you too. Here is a tribute to Chuck Berry from Jon Bon Jovi.

    Another tribute by Gene Simmons:
