I know we have a few. I am a Prostate Cancer Survivor of 1991 & a blood cancer called Waldenstrom's Macroglobulemia. 2007, currently stable. Although my cancers surfaced shortly after retiring at age 59 I did not let it impede my travel back and forth from New Zealand. several cruises, lots of golf and other physical activities. I managed to have 26 years of Quality time and have no regrets. I wish for good and speedy recovery for all SO Cancer Survivors.
Other than Colon cancer back in 2007, various skin cancers... although not the bad one. Yet! Everything I have wrong with me can be traced to my own actions/inactions, etc. If I had quit smoking, ate right, got better exercise, wore sunscreen, had regular checkups and all those other things we got told by families, doctors, etc. Of course if I had followed all that advice, it is conceivable that something else would have resulted in my demise... such as being such an intolerable self righteous health nut that someone finally got completely fed up. As it is, I am simply intolerable.
