Good morning Anyone for Breakfast Bread Bowls? You hollow out a small crusty bread round, brush the inside with olive oil and pepper, and then customize add-ons with any number of choices…some of which are shown below. The first picture also shows some on the right with roasted red potatoes added. I would add 3 items to the choices: EXTRA Sharp Cheddar Cheese, artichoke, and mushrooms (thyme if you don't like cilantro). Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes uncovered, then 20-25 lightly covered. http://tastykitchen.com/blog/2012/04/customizable-bread-bowl-breakfast/ Please note: A lot of people are on low carb diets. You can have everything except the bread bowl (and potatoes). So you can substitute the bread by placing all ingredients in a ramikan. Ingredients (and off course the egg!)
You see these in Eastern Europe quite a lot, usually for soup. Garlic soup is very popular in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in particular. It is especially good on a chilly winter's day, but I'd take a garlic soup on any day of the year.
It's popular in California with sourdough bread and clam chowder ...usually on one of the many wharfs.
Hawaii is Spam country lol...bread bowls looks yummy though. For breakfast of any time bread bowls filled with delicious fillings makes a day happier with what I've seen here and yummier! (2015) image from https://www.flickr.com/photos/hawaii/17348881592.
The clam chowder and sourdough bread are delicious on Fisherman's wharf but it frustrated me to waste all of that excess x-large bread that you couldn't eat much of. I guess the Seagulls enjoy the leftovers….why aren't they fat? No fair. Flying must be the best exercise. Yes, let's fly!
