We had a can of Solo Almond Paste on the larder shelf since Missouri, likely 10 years old, and I ached to make some Cream Cheese Kolacky, so that Solo today provided the incentive. Here's the dough being mixed: Mixing done, a big ball of yuck! Cream cheese topping, my first time ever! My Mother almost always included this along with fruit topping when making a batch. Cutting those babies out using my wife's cookie cutter. My Mother used a drinking glass. She also proudly displayed an upheld fist and arm when asked about her "Mix-Master"! After 5 minutes in the oven. The Almond topping turned out to be very thick and unwieldy, probably too old, but my wife proclaimed it usable! The Solo label, before baking. Done! 20 minutes at 375`F. Would have liked slightly browner crust, but Almond was turning brown. They taste real close to my Mother's. I am satisfied! Glad she taught me about cooking. Frank
Never heard of these Frank, look delicious. The old ways are always the best. My mum used to roll out pastry with a milk bottle in the fifties
