I finally have got that many bushes and trees with fruit and berries that I could make my 1st jam from black berries. But as it has been so dry - no rain since Mar here the berries were small so it took longer time than..But as I love it I have made it..My former garden in Dalby I have many, many trees and bushes with fruit and berries. Arriving here was only a huge lawn of 6 000 M2.. It was workative to pick them & would have taken only half the time with normal size of them. But if I do not ake them now they will fall to the ground.. The draft has hit the farmers badly so they must slaughter cows as they have nothing to eat neither now or to store hay for the winter. I ahve around 5000 m2 with good grass here but as the is a well here and beneath rill that water it all but the the high point were I let the dog have a place during daytime.. I have lost my muscles - I use to be muscular - I need to have it back- so the garde- nig is one way of getting bacl some..My stair up to the upper floor is good for me, as I walk around 20 times a day up and down voluntarily by will... I am tired now - have to have a nap... Love.... Anita
@Von Jones @Anita Larrson Welcome! Blackberries grew wild, along with Raspberries, though much fewer of those, over many acres on our place in Missouri. My wife one year picked and froze 20 gallons! I loved the jam, and also the homemade Blackberry Wine! Frank
@Anita Larrson , Blackberries are wonderful..I used to have lots of blackberries growing in the garden when I had the wildflower corner, but now it's all formalised, so we don't grow fruit any more...more's the pity actually... Where are you, that you've had no rain since March? Good idea about climbing the stairs often to rebuild muscle... and gardening not only will help to do the same but it will relax your mind too, and ease whatever stresses you may be feeling.
