While on Dancing With The Stars, Anne Heche stated that, after attending the Opening of the movie Volcano, with Ellen DeGeneres in-hand, her career really suffered. She said, "It was painfully obvious that the Studio didn't like me showing up with a famous lesbian."

Shoot, before seeing that segment of DWTS, neither wife nor I knew Anne was a lesbian. And, my wife was an "Extra" in that movie.

 

Studios are concerned with Optics. I think some people go to the movies to see the stars that are in it, story itself is immaterial.

 

In my world, Anne Heche was never a "star" anyhow, so she can hold hands with whatever she wants.
