For my contribution, red is the favorite color of the Chinese businessmen here. Maybe not really favorite but the color red is associated with optimism, success and victory. When there is an affair like anniversaries or other milestone events, expect the Chinese to wear red tops. There is one lady producer named Mother Lily who requires her actors to wear red in the launching of the movie project. And after the shooting, the same scenario can be seen when the movie premieres in the theaters. I sometimes wear red when I am not feeling so well. Nothing really, maybe it is psychological only but it perks me up and lifts my spirits somehow. But I am not a red fanatic yet.
When I think of red I think of Shibui. Shibui is a very simple elegance that can be applied to any subject whether it be interior design, food presentation, clothing, art, landscaping, etc. I also associate it with red, black, white, grey, silver, gold, and subtle earth colors….especially a pop of unexpected rich red and metallics.
Scientists have researched football teams and reckon that red is a winning colour. Professor Robert Barton, from Durham University, said: "We see a couple of possible explanations. "Firstly, over time supporters may have been subconsciously more attracted to a club wearing red, so the club has developed an increasing resource base within its community. "Secondly, there may be a positive psychological boost from wearing red that is reflected on the field of play. "Competing against a team in red could also impair performance."
We have a chain of some 120 French style cafe/bars in the UK called "Cafe Rouge" Café Rouge was founded by Roger Myers and Karen Jones as a small restaurant chain in 1989. As the brand grew, Myers and Jones incorporated the chain into a larger restaurant group: The restaurant chain gained much exposure after frequently being mentioned in the 1996 novel Bridget Jones's Diary, with the main character Bridget Jones (and her friends) visiting her local branch of the restaurant regularly throughout the novel. The movie version of Bridget Jones Diary never had one scene shot at the quaint Cafe Rouge. Pity. It's charming and romantic…not to mention it's in the book and they were shooting in London. What were they thinking? http://www.movie-locations.com/movies/b/bridget.html#.VkSYpEv7XFI
