We all know what I am referring to. This has been referred to many time in the way big tech wants to control what you see, hear, and who you relate to. Big Tech Is Big Brother
Some of the many reasons I don't use or support any of the named companies. If you buy or use an iPhone, you support Tim Cook's view of the world and his ability to censor those who don't conform to his views. Social media is an insidious and pervasive addiction for which there are no detox facilities.
While I do agree with this, and also believe that these corporations which control communications are restricting what can be said by users, the sad truth is that this control does not stop with technology. All of the media, television, radio, newspapers, film companies, are owned by only 5-6 large corporations; so if we do not want to support the agenda, we need to stop reading or watching anything from the media as well. And what about food, and other products that we use ? Almost all of the food in not only the United States, but in the whole world, is controlled by 10 gigantic food companies. Are we going to stop going to the grocery store , too ? Actually, if we went back 100 years, where everyone grew their own food, and news was passed by private mail, or just spoken from person to person; we could be free of the controls on our lives again. However, that is just not likely to happen, and probably not even feasible at this point. Too many people live in cities and in apartments, and no way can they raise a back yard garden and have a milk cow. Travel on horseback is not going to cut it anymore, but the fuel companies are (again) controlled by giant corporations. The web is all around us, and we are caught in the net.......both literally and figuratively, Folks.
Big brother is already in China I was watching some people talking about being in China and he said he Jaywalked within seconds there was money taken out of his credits for the infraction. No trial no excuse just took the money. Hope it is not coming here but it just might with big tech. Chinese authorities use facial recognition, public shaming to crack down on jaywalking, criminals https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-03...eras-to-tackle-jaywalkers-in-shenzhen/9567430
